Wonderful place to spend time alone as well as with family. Beautiful, clean and serene Beach. Looking deep into the lake, the sunrise and the horizon is like meditation. The ducks playing around un the water and in lawns nearby alongwith squirrels brings out the child in you. Lovely place indeed.
Lane beach is the perfect beach for families. It's small enough and quiet enough to take small children. The beach is protected by a huge break wall and the water only gets to about 3 feet. There's a nice playground for the younger kids. Parking is a challenge though. (A few drone photos of the park/beach)
It was lovely! Gentle waves lapping at the shore. The water was so very blue with a wonderful contrast against the rocks and sand. There were ducks which just the sight of makes me happy. A very soothing pleasant experience.
This small beach is a great local spot to watch the lake, splash in the shallow water, or just watch the people. No parking or trees but the neighboring buildings create nice shady zones. Lots of sunny space too for the sun lovers.
Very kid friendly and there is a lifeguard during the season but it was only one and he seemed a bit overwhelmed.
Will be back!
Beautiful, quiet beach. Good for families with smaller kids, it's more low-key than other beaches. The beautiful rocks, however, are not allowed to be climbed/sat on, which is disappointing.
Kudos to the lifeguards on this beach for dealing with difficult people everytime I'm here. Like this Karen today who thought she was above park district rules, and degraded both lifeguards on duty that approached her.
Well Lifeguarded. Family friendly with plenty of sand real estate for setting up your beach day necessities. Shallow and clear water with small lapping waves. Don't climb the rocks and the day will be perfect. Take the RedLine "L" to Thorndale and leave the car at home.
Lane Beach, the water was so very blue with a wonderful contrast against the rocks and sand. That makes me miss someone who ever beside me everywhere. 😊
