Very nice state park, it is very busy. You can hear the airplanes taking off and there is a lot of road noise. The lots are good size but some of the trees make it tricky to get your rig into. They are only electric sites with no water so plan ahead for that. They do have dumping stations and water is available in the park. The restroom and showers are clean and well taken care of.

I have been tent camping in Michigan for 30+ yrs. This is one of the nicest campgrounds for many reasons. 1. Nice size camp lots. 2 proximity to beach just walk across the bridge over the highway. 3 lots of shopping and food options nearby and within walking distance 4 bathrooms and showers are new and very nice . 5 views of the bay from the campsite It is a great place but it does book up fast

The campground itself is well maintained. Friendly staff. The shower rooms and bathrooms are clean and updated. The only downside is some late-night noise from waste dumpster pickups at 4am, and planes coming and going at the airport nearby, but not bad.

Very nice park. You walk the Tart trail right from the campground. Very nice bathroom and showers. Just one place to fill your rv fresh water tank. Firewood available for $6.00 a bunch. One thing that could be better would be more places to get rid of your trash. You have to take it to the front of the park.

Good location but beware of campsite 473 that is disgustingly only 20ft from the toilet tank dump station, see photo. I’ve been camping all my life and never seen the dump station right among the actual campsites. I was in site 466 about 200ft from the station and was overwhelmed with the stench of someone dumping their tank while trying to eat breakfast at the picnic table. This has to be a violation of Michigan’s health code. For $50 a night I’m really disappointed. Wont be back and do not recommend.

Quaint and rustic, this campground offers all that is needed to create a memory of the up north outdoors. Find yourself nestled in-between the oak and pines, a short walk away from the cool waters of the river, and fall asleep under the stars.

I'm sure this is the hot spot in the summer! Thankfully RVs were spread out in September. Bathrooms were very clean and impressive. Sites were well marked with good roads and turning for bigger rigs. The spots are rather close together so keep that in mind. Easy access to walk to the beach over the bridge. Firewood and ice for sale on site. This is not the place to be if you want nothing but wilderness sounds. Planes, helicopters, cars and motorcycles are your white noise for sleeping. It served us fine for two nights but that's my limit.

Great camping experience. My biggest complaint is the airport directly behind it has planes taking off that sound like they are going to crash through the sites.
