Joe's Stone Crab - Featured Reviews (9141)
First time in Miami I found this amazing place to have a dinner with my family. The stone crab are amazing, I ordered 1 Jumbo size and 1 Large. Other seafood dishes are very fresh and delicious. And must try their key lime pie too, highly recommended to enjoy your lovey day here
Enjoyed lunch at Joes on Saturday.
No need to dress up unlike dinner time.
Service was excellent.
Food was divine.
Price was high as expected.
Ordered baked sea scallops.
2 large orders of claw.
Brussel sprouts with bacon / caramelized onions.
Key lime pie.
Keep doing what you’re doing Joe’s staff.
111 years going strong 🦀
Stone crab and burger were great. Best burger I had for a while. But why suggest minimum 15% tip for takeaway orders? I ended up paying $20 for tip and did not get anything in return, not even a chair for waiting or a cup of water.
It's a classic and while expensive, the stone crabs are tasty and very fresh. I think you can stick with the medium or select size as they seemed just as good as the larger sizes.
The real star is the fried chicken. It's really cheap ($9 as of 2023) for half a chicken - insane. Of course the quality has to be good and Joe's chicken doesn't disappoint. The skin was crispy and it was really juicy. Yes I've had better but this was still really good.
My beautiful niece, Brianna, selected this restaurant for our Christmas Eve dinner. It is 110 years old and still owned by the same family that started it. I had the Seafood Paella and shared Cream Spinach as well as Grilled Tomatoes. I enjoyed both sides and found the Paella to be delicious. If I ever come back to Miami, I want to try the Stone Crab.
As a relatively new Miami resident, I had been wanting to come here for years, being arguably the most famous restaurant in Miami and the place that put stone crabs on the culinary map. I think I would have rated it higher, except that we have a local stone crab connection in Everglades City that has spoiled us for life. The average tourist in South Beach should certainly hit this place up to sample stone crabs, my favorite food on the planet, but if you want a relatively more affordable stone crab feast, suffice to say you can go elsewhere. I also got a surprisingly BAD Moscow Mule. I think they accidentally forgot the ginger beer. Otherwise, it was a stellar meal, and the mussels might actually have been the highlight given my stone crab "snobbiness." Key lime pie was also great. The surprise hit, which is no longer a secret amongst locals, is the fried chicken. Man was it good. Don't get me wrong: this is a must-do Miami experience if you can afford it (~$150/person, so pretty steep in my book). It's a beautiful place with 5-star service.
This is the definition of a classic Miami staple! We have a Joe's in Chicago, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Miami Beach location.
All the food was on point, from appetizer to dessert. We had the Jumbo and Large Stone Crab claws, and they were ridiculous. Yes, we are in the middle of the season, so it is a particularly good time to visit.
The service is also on point. The team that took care of us were awesomely attentive. They are the core that kept this place open for over 100-years.
I have been coming here for 45 years, and will still be coming back until they close or until my death.
If you have never been to Joe's, and have been to Miami, you should feel ashamed and make reservations right away and go. If you don't, you will regret that decision for the rest of your life.
Price > Value
The place was packed, like every weekend in the winter. Lots of people enjoying themselves and good atmosphere.
The valet guys are nice and aggressive. There is parking right across the street at no cost if you don’t want to valet. It’s optional.
There is a happy guy welcoming you in. Service was ok.
The stone crabs were ok!
Everything else we ordered all the way to the lobster roll, the steak, the appetizers, the calamari, mac and cheese lobster and more were lousy. Def not worth the price; yet poor quality.
The key lime pie was the highlight and it wasn’t the best we have had.
Go check it out and support Miami restaurants❤️
