This hotel has three old restored properties in Mendocino. You check in at base, are welcomed and given keys and information regarding your stay. All of this happened in a very friendly and professional manner. Rooms of a high standard and well maintained. There is a cheese and wine hour every afternoon which is a nice touch. Breakfast is delivered by basket between 8 30 and 9. Fully recommended

Our second stay was even more lovely than the first! Our room in the JD house was amazing, with a porch overlooking the ocean, a real wood fireplace in the room, and a deep soaking tub. It was the perfect relaxing weekend away from the city! We were staying with family, and the downstairs common area was a fantastic cozy spot to meet up to hang out, have coffee and play games.||The wine hour at the main hotel is one of the best hotel complimentary happy hours I've ever experienced. They put out a beautiful spread of high quality cheeses, fresh fruit, and crackers, and had a nice selection of wines to try as well. It was so thoughtfully arranged, definitely worth checking out when you stay even if you aren't staying in the main building (it's just a short walk away).||The breakfast basket was even better than I remembered from the last visit - we ate so well the two mornings we were there we hardly needed lunch. Delicious coffee, orange juice, and a small pastry along with the main dish which was a berry crumble one of the days and an egg frittata the other - both fresh and still completely warm and very tasty. ||The staff was so kind and helpful, giving us some great recommendations and even a free tasting voucher for a winery on our drive home. We will certainly be back for our next getaway - I can't recommend this place enough!

We loved our stay at JD House. The room was comfortable and clean. View from the balcony was beautiful. Loved that breakfast was delivered every morning and was different each day (one hot item per person, plus a yogurt or chia pudding, pastry, coffee, and orange juice). The location was perfect for exploring the town. Parking was very easy. I would absolutely stay here again next time we visit. We totally fell in love with Mendocino!

Well located, lovely cottage, and the place is quiet (JD rooms). The rooms were disappointing, not as beautiful and comfortable as pictured. Our king bed was extremely soft, too soft, we both got a backache. When a person in the bed turns, it makes the other moving as well. In addition, they didn't provide us with a crib or small bed as requested for our son so he had to sleep with us. Fortunately we stayed only 2 nights because we almost didn't sleep at all. The room was very warm as well, we had to keep the windows open at night. In the other room, there was no bath towels. This is not a 4* level hotel.

which is Mendocino...The Inns comprise of three separate houses, you choose which house you wish to stay in and book accordingly. I chose the JD house due mainly to the private deck which was a bonus and we used it alot..however if inclement weather etc would not be ideal. The room itself was a slight disappointment, no walk in shower (my fault for not checking this), very small, furniture could use an update as could room itself, windows and doors need to be either replaced or replaned to operate better. No nice place to enjoy the lovely breakfast they provide each morning, usually too cool to sit on the deck that early. I looked at The Blue Door and we will stay there next time...beautiful , gorgeous remodel....lovely expansive deck ...lots of nice seating... because we could use the deck so often we enjoyed this room...thank you all at Inns of Mendocino....great breakfast...wonderful happy hour....super clean...well taken care of....given consideration and attention....we loved our time with you and will return.

We stayed in the JD House in Room 208, the most expensive room in all the 3 Mendocino locations. This place is really nice. Let me start the positives:|1. The grounds are amazing. Beautiful well kept gardens, most in bloom this August|2. The staff is top notch. We needed some bathroom products which they brough to our front door very promptly.|3. Every morning they bring a hot breakfast in an insulated bag to your door. Each day it is a little different, but includes fresh orange juice, coffee, a hot entree, usually an egg dish, some sort of pudding with fruit and nuts, and something sweet like a scone or coffee cake. My wife and I are vegetarians and they had no trouble accommodating us.|4. Afternoons they served wine and a charcuterie plate in the main building about 3 blocks away. They only serve for an hour and not very many guests took advantage of it, but we found it really nice||So why did I rate this amazing place only a 3? Because it was over $500/night mid week and here's what was lacking:|1. The room was nice enough, but nothing special. Painted all the same white color though in very good condition. The large king size bed was comfortable, but was a little low for ease of in and out. My wife and I are in our 70's though in fairly good shape. It has a small deck where you have an ocean view, though that is limited by summer fog.|2. The room has no closet or dresser to put your clothing. There are a couple of hangers on a projection rod, but basically we had to live out of our carry bags.|3. The bathroom was the biggest problem. It was very pretty. However the shower is part of a tall walk in "jacuzzi style" tub. There are no hand rails anywhere in the bathroom, so it is a little challenging (and a bit dangerous) to get in and out of the shower. I didn't even know this was legal anymore! Also there is very limited space for toiletries for two people. Just a small shelf over the toilet and a little space on the sides of the sink. Interestingly enough there is a sign discouragiing you from using the Jacuzzi due to water conservation, so why even bother having it there?||My overall sense is that there are many properties in Mendocino that are equally nice for considerably less cost than this one. Having said that, you utlimately forget the cost quickly, but remember the experience for a long time. I leave it to all of you to make up your own minds|

We stayed at the Blue Door Inn at the Packard House. Lovely location, beautifully maintained house and very clean. We stayed in the king guest room, #301. We would stay there again! The grounds are lovely as well.

Our stay at this property was a wonderful experience. My husband and I stayed in the main building which felt like arriving home, the main foyer and lobby is chic, well appointed and even decorated for Christmas very tastefully. We spent a bit of time in this area for the free wine and cheese hour in the evening, which was a lovely experience, the hosts knew a lot about the local wineries and showcased them every evening. Our room was elegant and chic, with a view of the ocean that we enjoyed watching whilst drinking our morning coffee, that was brought to us. I have to say the bed was the most comfortable plush nights sleep I have had in a hotel, the linens were soft and pillows perfection. We had a gas fireplace in our room which added a lovely ambiance. Our room was so cozy and elegant, nestled right by the ocean, which we could hear at night which made our trip feel extra special. The breakfast was a wonderful treat every morning and very filling. I have to say all the staff that we interacted with were welcoming, warm and made us feel very at home. I will definitely stay at this property again when in the area.

What a lovely and relaxing place to stay! We had the room with the view on the end of the building with the rocking chairs, which we made good use of! Ian showed us the remodeling he's doing on some of the rooms, and it's just beautiful! We will
