Hotel Blue - Resort hotel in Myrtle Beach - 705 S Ocean Blvd, USA

I have stayed here off season and I believe they make sure you have the nice, updated rooms when you stay off season. I totally embarrassed myself by offering up this hotel as a suggestion for a girls trip. The room was an absolute dump, we immediately started checking for bed bugs! We were afraid to sit our stuff on the bench in the suite living room due to nasty stains. The room was old and felt damp even when the air was on dry mode. No air in the bathroom at all, we were sweating trying to get ready in there. The swim up bar would've been lovely but we were not allowed to sit at the bar, we were told there had to be a lifeguard there for that. We waited and waited but no lifeguard showed up, this was in season on a Saturday, BTW folks! We ended up having to get out of the pool and walk down some dangerous steps especially dangerous when u are soaking wet. The dj and bartender were the lifesavers here, we loved Fabian. For reference, we stayed 8/16-8/18. My friends were very cool about it but none of them want to go back, for the price, they could stand to do some upgrades and get a damn lifeguard!

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful!! The pool was great and the beach access was awesome. The swim up bar was nice. It was also nice to have access to the others pools at the hotel’s partner. The beds in the room were uncomfortable—they need to be updated.Need to offer housekeeping services when staying multiple nights. Overall it was a good stay.

This hotel should have paid me to stay there. It's by far the nastiest hotel I've ever stayed at. Hotels in this general area are always a bad idea but the soccer tournament said we were required to stay there. We won't make that mistake again. This hotel is run down, the carpets are gross in main areas, the rooms are even worse. I've lived in inner city apartments better kept than our room. The pull down wall bed was stained and luckily we didn't need that. There was crusty food on surfaces. After a shower my daughter picked her clothes up off the floor and a cockroach was under them. We weren't the only family/room from our soccer team that found roaches either. The bed/pillows were uncomfortable. There is no redeeming quality found at this hotel that would ever justify staying there.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED! The first thing you see when you walk in is the CLOSED DOWN coffee shop they offer, which never opens. The rooms are SUPER outdated. There were dripping stains on the walls & the base of the beds. Our "clean" bathroom was covered in hair. They do not offer housekeeping. The "famous" swin up bar closes at 5 P.M. so if you are a beach person during the day, you won't be enjoying this one "amenity" they offer. Overall a disgusting vibe the minute you arrive. The bar they are affiliated with, a block away, Loco Gecko Beach Shak, was equally as disappointning. The staff was beyond rude & very vocal about their dislike of their occupation. No manager on staff. Waited over 25 minutes to get served, then 100% forgotten. Left without ever eating. Such a wasted vacation & money!

Checked in yesterday, alarm went off at 4am just for the fire department to advise us its a fault alarm, they give one towel per guest, room small, and I smell smoke every time I enter the room. I already wrote a review directly to them, so I’m not even going back again I will just never stay here again. Currently now the alarm has been going off for an hour and half they seem to not get it right, I can’t get know rest, I did a 8hr drive here for this is unacceptable. Location is great, music is on point. Updates are definitely needed. Customer service is so so, I met some good and some bad, when I entered to check in yesterday, employees was in the back cursing like a sailor, the lady that help us was a vibe, she was cool. I hope y’all get it together for others, I’m definitely one that looks at reviews, but missed this one since my first time here.

I can't speak on behalf of the room or location. However, I am currently on hold for the third time trying to cancel my reservation because how convenient of them not to allow you to cancel online like most reasonable hotels do. What a bunch of crap, it should NOT take this amount of wasted time to cancel a reservation. Think twice about this place.

Location was excellent. Easy access to beach directly from hotel. You can rent chairs/umbrellas on the beach. No beach chairs provided. Beach is beautiful and very clean. We were able to walk everywhere for food, groceries, shopping and activities. Pool was nice with swim up bar and lounge chairs but there is zero shade No umbrellas at the pool at all. Hotel overall is older, but our room was very clean. Beds are not super comfortable. Air conditioner in bedroom was super loud when it kicked on. Loud enough to wake you from sleep. Main suite unit was not loud. No housekeeping services. They only come to your room if requested a day in advance. We had to go to front desk for more towels and trash liners. No broom provided in the room so the sand on floors was a lot by the time we checked out, even though we were very good about washing our feet after leaving the beach. Coffee maker in room, but no coffee provided. Front desk staff were not nice, bordering on rude. They acted like we were an inconvenience starting with check in, all the way up to check out. All other staff we encountered were friendly. Parking garage is in center of building and room surround it, so there is added noise. Additional cost of $12 per day to park your car.

Went on this trip to link up with my best friend and her family. She also stayed at the same hotel but arrived a day later. When I checked up, I felt bad for telling her to book there because I felt disappointed and embarrassed. For starters, the lobby looks like a mechanic’s garage! It is dark and needs serious renovations. The entire resort is not air conditioned except for your room so the halls and elevator are hot as heck!! No clue why it is even called a resort because it doesn’t even offer amenities like a restaurant, daily activities, gym, etc.. on site. The one plus is this hotel is on the beach and has a pool and indoor lazy river. However, the lazy river looks murky. Not sure if it is suppose to look like a river but that’s just gross! There are also a lot of roaches throughout the building, so nasty! In the bathroom, there are ZERO towel hooks to hang your towels so my family had to figure out where to hang out towels after we took a showers, terrible!! By the way, our towels were nasty - there was black boogies on mine so told the housekeeper I needed fresh towels (see photo). Also note - there’s NO daily housekeeping, you can only request it as needed. Overall, the room was clean but the noise level of the resort was terrible. People were allowed to have house parties in their rooms all night so it was noisy! I do not recommend but if you want a nice view of the beach, it is what it is!
