Ended up throwing everything we ordered away - hear me out:
1st - Don't be fooled by the pictures on their website. Ordered the gyro and doesn't come with the same ingredients you see. Missing lettuce and tomatoes. Was just cold wad of meat and sour hummus in a semi stale wrap that was falling apart in some areas, and tough to chew in others.
To make sure I wasn't crazy, I tried the hummus we got on the side by itself, and confirmed: sour hummus for sure.
The French fries and other fried foods were 1am gas station quality.
They didn't even deliver the full meal we paid for. Was missing drink and an order fries.
Restaurant kept insisting that we needed to come and pick up the missing items even though we had it delivered and not being able to come by to pick it up was the whole point of paying for it to be delivered. No offer or willingness for refund or gift card or credit for future order or fix the problem. Spent 10 minutes over 2 calls to figure out there was not going to be a fix for the busted meal that was delivered.
Can't recommend against this place enough.
Spectacular find in Portland! The most delicious and authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Portions are plentiful. Make sure you get some bread and hummus!
The food at Dina's was incredibly fresh and full of flavor! I was thoroughly impressed when ordering and trying the chicken shawarma plate. My husband and I have already ordered from this restaurant three times in a two week time span! The staff is very friendly and accommodating, as well. Highly recommend!
By far, this is an excellent Middle Eastern food spot no matter where you compare it to. The price, quality and quantity is excellent. The food freshness is excellent. The quality of the ingredients is good, and on a random note, the value in the spices they sell is excellent.
All this excellence would normally arrive you at five stars, but the only thing holding it back from a five star affordable middle eastern food joint rating is the way the owner speaks to his employees.
Having a great food joint is cool, but treating your employees well is even cooler. While I don't think it's terrible, I do believe that the owner is culturally use to different behaviors that are more common someplace else.
The food is worth it, but the owner needs to learn how to speak to employees, and that yelling at them in front of customers is unacceptable. By chance, we speak Arabic, and could listen to him be a jerk to his staff infront of us. Not cool.
Favorite Mediterranean food I have had in the Portland area. Excellent pita, creamy hummus, etc. Nice selection of fresh retail goods, too! Place is a little hard to find at night (it’s set back from the street) so cruise slow as you pass by R S V P.
Wow, this place is authentic. From amazing Greek food to other middle eastern dishes like Turkish delight or baklava for dessert, they make really delicious food. Their authenticity continues throughout from the decor to staff attire to the music. Reasonable pricing and sizeable portions. You won't be disappointed.
Dina's is BY FAR my favorite place to eat in Portland. Whenever I decide to treat myself, I make sure to stop by Dina's and get two Spicy Chicken Shawarma Wraps. The food is so good and you get a lot for what you pay for. I like that the food is affordable. I LOVE that it is SO GOOD. Although the shawarma is my go to, the Saji and falafel are also amazing. Most importantly, the staff have always been incredibly kind to me and I appreciate the small conversations I have with them. I have been to Dina's a dozen times and don't plan on stopping.
Delicious food! The chicken shwarma was flavorful and light!
