Currituck Beach Lighthouse - Historical landmark in Corolla - 1101 Corolla Village Rd, USA

This is a beautiful lighthouse. I did not go to the top but they did let me in to get pictures. It is $12 to get in. There is also a really nice gift shop that I loved and a museum. Only issue is the museum is closed on the weekends. The surrounding area around the waterfront is beautiful too.

Great day climbing this lighthouse on Wednesday 12/27/23. $10 per person, must sign a waiver to climb. Great adrenaline rush at the top balcony of this lighthouse!!!

Such a beautiful lighthouse! We did not climb the stairs to go to the top, but we are planning to in the future. I believe it is $12 per person to enter and climb to the top (there was little to no wait to enter the lighthose while ee were there). Walking around the grounds is free. Their gift shop is adorable and one of the historic buildings.

The Currituck Beach Lighthouse was built in 1875 and is the only one in the state where the original brick remains unpainted. For a climb to the top it's best to arrive early to avoid the crowds. It's 220 steps up to the catwalk, and I had it all to myself to enjoy what can be described as spectacular views. The surrounding grounds were shaded and peaceful.

An intense walk up to the top of the lighthouse, but so worth it. The panoramic views of the area were amazing. As one walks up the spiral staircase it is nice to.take a break at each of the landings to catch one's breath. A very impressive and majestic brick lighthouse.

First time visiting the Currituck lighthouse. Really enjoyed getting to see the historic buildings on site. The cute gift shop is tightly packed with a myriad of treasures, something for everyone. Although we didn't climb to the top, there wasn't a wait for others that did make the climb. Make time to walk through the adjoining museum for some local insight into the area!

The lighthouse grounds are beautiful, as is the lighthouse itself. There’s a small shop on the ground as well. Be sure and check the adjacent Whalehead area for more great scenery.

It shouldn't be so much to walk up the lighthouse, but I understand they need money to keep it preserved and to pay for the boat museum next door. I am thankful that we got to go. There was a line, even before opening at 9 but we had a fun time. I would go again when my kids are older if they were interested. You can see so much from the top but it is hard to feel like you can linger long since you know a whole line of people is waiting at the bottom.
