Best BEST best science center/museum! We spent hours here and it was so worth the admission price. Terrific for the the whole family! Very clean facility with thought out/organized exhibits. We will definitely go back next time we visit Buffalo.

This place is big - five stories big! It's definitely designed with younger children in mind, but my three children 11, 11, and 13 had a blast playing with all of the interactive experiences. There are traditional rooms with taxidermy animals from all over the globe, and then there are energy and motion rooms where you get to play around with ping pong balls and magnets. There is a room sponsored by Wegmans involving healthy foods, a room about bugs, a room about the Earth - it's a lot 🤗 It probably won't impress jaded teenagers, but your younger children will stay here all day and then the next day too. It seems worth it to buy the family membership if you have 5 people in your party, and even if you have four, it'll pay for itself in two visits.

Went to Twilight at the museum today. Had an amazing experience! Staff and volunteers were so helpful and just an amazing wealth of knowledge.....I'm kicking myself for not asking him his name, but thank you for answering all my weird questions. I cant wait to come back next month.....just hope it's not as cloudy. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

The Buffalo Museum of Science, located at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Buffalo, New York, offers a rich experience in science and nature. This museum has undergone significant transformations over the years, including the restoration and reopening of its rooftop Kellogg Observatory in July 2018 and the opening of SensERIE, a sensory space for early childhood in 2021. SensERIE features three Erie County-based environments – a forest, a city, and an underwater scene – to engage young explorers using their senses of touch, sight, and sound. The museum's collection exceeds 700,000 specimens, focusing on the natural history of the Niagara Frontier of New York and adjacent Ontario. These collections are categorized into research collections, special collections, and teaching collections, offering a comprehensive view of the area's biodiversity in fields like anthropology, botany, entomology, mycology, paleontology, and zoology. In addition to its permanent exhibits, the museum regularly hosts special events and temporary exhibits. For instance, starting January 20, 2024, the museum will feature "Curious George: Let's Get Curious," an exhibit based on the beloved book and television series, designed to build math and science skills through interactive activities. Other features of the museum include the National Geographic 3D Cinema, Elements Café, and the Curiosity Shop. The museum also operates the Tifft Nature Preserve, which boasts five miles of trails and boardwalks for nature exploration. The museum is open Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesdays until 9 p.m. General admission prices are $19 for adults, $16 for children (2-17 years), seniors (62+), and students/military with ID. Museum members and children under 2 enjoy free admission. The Buffalo Museum of Science is supported in part by public funds from the County of Erie, City of Buffalo, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and contributions from members and friends, all contributing to its mission as a hub for scientific exploration and family fun

Strongly recommended.. Kids had so much fun. We spent almost 3 hours and could have easily stayed longer. A lot of engaging attractions for kids that are very interesting. Free parking, reasonable pricing, very clean, friendly staff.. Kudos to the management and all the employees.

This museum is fun for all ages, but is amazing for school age children. It has multiple floors with interactive exhibits. Overall it is very clean, even the bathrooms. The staff is fantastic and very knowledgeable. The hours are only 10am-4pm daily and it gets very busy on days off of school.

We had a great time exploring the Reinventing Reality exhibit, which was all about virtual reality. Hands on activities make it fun for the kids. The exhibit was small so I’m glad we were able to explore other floors and exhibits as well. Buffalo in Space, Bug World, YUM, In Motion, just to name a few of the others. Great place to spend a few hours.
