I stay here every January for a conference and I've never had a bad stay. My room was in the tower this time, which I much prefer because the walls don't seem nearly as thin as the Paintlind side. It was lovely and quiet so I was able to actually get work done and rest while in my room (in the Paintlind, I've often been able to hear the conversations taking place in the next room). The fitness center is also very nice here. Drinks in the lobby bar (can't remember the name) were on the pricey side but very well made and the staff was great. The front desk staff is always fabulous here, very accommodating. Bonus in that it connects to the parking garage and DeVos Center by skywalk so you don't have to walk outside if the weather isn't great.

They charge for water but the views were nice and we enjoyed being close to downtown. There isn't a breakfast "included" option, we found out, but they did give us a gift card to Wolfgang Puck Kitchen Counter. The omelets were awesome, albeit pricey. We stayed for 2 nights over New Years and had a great family time.

Love this hotel and the atmosphere it provides! I attend a yearly conference held at the Amway so I of course always stay at this establishment. I truly enjoy the convenience of Starbucks, restaurants, and even a secret bar on the 2nd floor. It is also walking distance to any bars and restaurants downtown. The parking in the garage can be a bit daunting due to having to take an elevator and walk to the hotel, but it really isn’t that bad. I’ve never had any issues!

I had a great time here. I went to see a concert and wanted to stay somewhere nice. The food was amazing, the room was very clean and the views were incredible. Service was amazing in every aspect from the hotel employees and wait staff. I was very impressed with this whole experience.

NOT WORTH IT! My wife and I stayed here for our wedding and it was absolutely not worth it. We had booked a suite for our wedding night, hoping that it would be a super nice room to come back to after a long day, and for $450 a night there were so many disappointments. Bathroom was smaller than a normal hotel room, floor tile was cracked, sink was cracked, shower head was barely on the wall, towels were so rough, and no fan in the bathroom. The main part of the suite was decent size but the safe in the room didn't work, the grandfather clock in the room didn't work, and the fridge was barely cold. The hotel doesn't have a free breakfast but they do have a little cafe you can buy breakfast at. The only good part of this hotel was the server we had at the bar downstairs. For $450 a night, you would expect so much more, especially for a wedding suite. You are better off staying at a Holiday Inn for $100 a night that at least has better amenities. They also charged me $100 for parking at their garage, which we were told would be validated because we stayed there, but during checkout, the lady took our room keys that let you out the garage and charged us to get our cars out instead. Save your money, go somewhere better.

Had never heard of the Amway (a GR area company) but was very pleasantly surprised. Great lobby, shops that were refreshingly interesting and fun to shop at, and a great selection of restaurants and bars from simple to extravagant. Rooms were very nicely appointed. Will definitely be staying here next time in GR!

My family comes to this hotel every year around New Year’s Eve. The staff is always incredibly kind and efficient. We have always been served with a smile from the time we park our car with the valet staff to the front desk and to any restaurant or bar in the hotel. My family was devastated to see that the “Updates” That have been happening have stripped all of the elegance and the luxurious feeling when walking down the hall and opening the door to our suite. Not only were the walls painted a cold and uninviting dark gray color, the artwork placed in the rooms was no longer a classy old money style but a trashy Vegas feel. The details of the Suites prior to this update were warm, inviting, lavish and over all more deluxe. The beautiful heavy drapes over the windows are now replaced with thin curtains. No more beautiful wooden Desk. No more beautiful wooden room divider. No more sophisticated style. I would say that the only nice upgrade in the room was the large sectional couch to be able to visit with family more comfortably.

Great downtown location in Grand Rapids. I’ve stayed at the Amway Grand a number of times and the service is excellent, as are the rooms. Choose from a traditional room or a more contemporary suite in the new tower, each have this own charm. On the higher floors in the new tower you’ll be greeted with fantastic views. Rings are typically well appointed, very well maintained and sparkling clean. As you would expect from a Hilton, the beds sand linens are wonderful. There was new tech I experienced allowing direct connection from my smart phone to connect YouTube and Netflix to the TV. Staff are generally mid west friendly (a compliment) and the Starbucks on the main floor is open at 7am.
