Alyeska Resort - Resort hotel in Girdwood - 1000 Arlberg Ave, USA

I woke up every day and went snow boarding, snow shoeing, fat biking and eating, all day until I couldn't take it any more. I stayed 4 days in a tour going around Alaska and this place is off the chains fun! Everyone was in a festive mood, no Karens, not Keishas not nothing annoying the good time I had. All of the food places were opened despite the fact that it was snowing all days I was there except for when I left, of course, go figure. You cannot go to this place and not eat at the Seven Glaciers Restaurant up on top of the mountain, that was amazing food and put me in a really good mood. The help at the hotel is very attentive and they will give you all sorts of hints and tips on what to do in the surrounding area and the tips to beat the crowds too. The room was amazing, I was in a great spot to get in and out of the hotel quick to my activities, and they had the free transport to take everyone to various stops around Girdwood, which was very important because no one wants to be driving those roads in that crazy winter weather. I met many people who made it a tradition to come back to the resort and I see why they do that. I might follow along. I recommend you go during the Xmas to New Year time for great winter vibes if you like Winter. Better than going to Europe.

Went here for a work trip and stayed on the 8th floor. Arrived late at night and staff ensured check in was quick and easy. Suite was beautiful and fresh charcuterie plate was waiting in the fridge. Was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the Black Diamond Lounge and that is definitely the best place for a chill apres-ski. Dinner at Seven Glaciers is a must, unbeatable food and wine list is only topped by the view. Will definitely be returning in 2024 and check out the spa and new bar.

What a shame. Such a beautiful location and this hotel has seen better days and probably better management. The rooms are outdated as others have pointed out. They don’t have a list of activities on property. You just have to wander around to figure it out. They nickel and dime for everything. $27 a day to valet a car and force people to park in a remote lot and drag luggage uphill through snow and ice? There are no outside food delivery services available so you’re stuck eating their food that is mediocre at best and severely overpriced. $4 for a Pepsi? $8 for a Corona? Disappointing experience. They need to fire their IT people as the Internet was ridiculously slow throughout the property. The staff was frustrated because a simple credit card charge took 2 minutes. The amount of computer keystrokes and processes to perform simple tasks is unbelievable. I feel sorry for the staff because they really try but have inadequate resources to perform their job. This place needs some love.

We stayed in a renovated room on the seventh floor. We loved the coziness of the room and the beautiful mountain views. We enjoyed skiing and snowshoeing on the nearby trails. Also spent time at the pool and hot tub. We did the twilight time slot at the spa. Also went to Forte several times, which we also liked. Everything was very convenient and close by. The hotel was beautifully decorated with holiday decor, making it a beautiful holiday getaway. We enjoyed everything we did and would gladly return in the future.

For the skier- walk out the back to the tram that takes you to top or to the beginner chair that links you to the day-lodge on other side of Alyeska ski hill. Friendly ski valet service, rental shop and gear shop. ||And of course - the Alyeska ski hill is a top notch world class hill, mecca for advanced skiers that love the steeps, and a nice area for beginners, but you may be scared if you’re most happy on blue runs. Quick look at map and it appears there are more double black diamond runs than single blacks plus blues plus greens combined. ||Back to the Alyeska Resort, the pool is longer than most about 15 meters and the hottub is huge, next to window looking at ski hill with good jets- not super strong but strong enough to work tired muscles. |We had breakfast at the resort’s Forte restaurant which had a nice but basic scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, and some fruit buffet. Also had dinner there one night which was satisfying. The Japanese restaurant also inside the Alyeska Resort, Sakura, was incredible- ate there 2 nights it was so good. There also was a coffee shop that looked good but we didn’t sample. Bottom line, enough choices that you could spend 4-6 days there and just eat in the resort’s restaurants and not get bored. ||Next door to the resort is the Alyeska Nordic Spa, which offered a wide variety of ways to do the hydrotherapy cycle and was worth the price of admission (reviewed separately). ||The concierge set us up for a snow machine excursion through glacier city snowmobiling that also was well worth the cost. |My wife and I had a side goal of seeing the Northern Lights, and the resort may not be the best place as there are a lot of lights, even in side parking lots for day skiers, but one can drive down to the Turnagin Arm for low light background. |Last, all the staff were very polite and helpful, from front desk, valets, bellhops, maids, ski valets- everyone seemed to want us to feel welcome. |Rooms were basic hotel rooms that had a fridge and a Keurig coffee machine, more than adequate for a skier. |We had a fantastic time and I would go back to ski Alyeska and stay at the Alyeska Resort in a heartbeat.

We were there for skiing, relaxing and New Year’s Eve festivities. The salt water pool was wonderful, although the changing room was a bit cold. Our room was great, clean, the staff were friendly and helpful . The food was good, we especially enjoyed the 7 Glaciers Restaurant for New Year’s Eve. The only restaurant we wished was better, as far as seating was the Sakura. There were 2 big long tables and it was kind of weird to sit with folks you didn’t know. The food was yummy though. Parking was kind of hard to find, but we were there during a busy time.

I recently visited the hydrotherapy at the spa. It was a beautiful winter escape with the snow-capped trees and saunas. The lockers contain a robe, slippers, and towel with exfoliating scrub. The staff is very professional and was helpful with instructions upon arrival and recommendations for making the most of the day. The locker rooms were clean and well equipped with showers, toilets, a vanity area with provided hair dryers, curling, flat irons, and make remover with cotton pads. There are water bottle filling stations conveniently located throughout, and you should definitely plan to tote one around. Additionally, there is a warm tea and fruit infused cold water station at the entrance to pools. The showers did get a little dirty towards the end of the day, but the provided slippers gave peace of mind. The cafe was perfectly situated for a mid day break and snack to rehydrate and refuel. A good variety of fresh, delicious food and mocktails and cocktails or warm beverages. I would highly recommend the full day package to fully experience the hydrotherapy and have time to revisit your favorites. The crowding was minimal during the daytime and picked up around dinner time, likely due to the discounted twilight option. I would highly recommend the experience and plan to return.

As an AK resident it's still a treat to visit the resort. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating allowing us an early check in/late check out. The beds are comfy and the bathroom/room was extremely clean. The salt water pool is great temp and of they provide plenty of towels and of course comfy robes. We will definitely be back soon!! I do wish they would still offer residential rates for us locals :)
