Writer's Cafe - Cafe in Puducherry - Pondicherry, India

We had seen the place a few times and decided to check it out. The food was delicious, the place is charming, simple and interesting decor, celebrates some of the famous writers. I also loved the fact that they had three specially abled youngsters as part of their staff who were serving customers, great to see the inclusivity. I would certainly go back to just sit and work from here :)

I had a latte and French toast on Diwali. This was one of the only places open at the time. The coffee was alright for a non-specialty coffee place, but it took such a long time to arrive that I was ready to leave when it was served. I had to remind the server once and was about to remind him twice when the floor manager saw me glance at my watch and reminded the other server to serve my coffee. That is good noticing on the part of the floor manager, however, it shouldn't come to that especially when you only have 3 tables. The French toast was good, quite fluffy and well prepared.

Writer's Cafe is a charming and cozy spot that captures the essence of this beautiful town. It's an ideal place for writers and book lovers to unwind and find inspiration. The menu offers a variety of delicious dishes and refreshing beverages, making it a perfect spot for brunch or a leisurely afternoon. The staff at Writer's Cafe is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service and making the overall experience enjoyable.

Their food is affordable, the quantity is good and the ambience is great too.I tried out their mac and cheese (SS205) and added sun-dried tomatoes to it at 330. They WEREN'T sun-dried But the pasta was still pretty good! Another fav is the spaghetti pesto pasta. This was super creamy and filling. I added mushrooms and broccoli each at 330. Onion rings were a great appetiser. It was priced at $140 and was a good portion for the price. If you aren't a fan on the onion taste, I wouldn't recommend this.

Outstanding place. Gem of a find! Food was too yum. Service was prompt & fast. Right from seating by the manager, order taken by the server to serving & clearing the plates. The atmosphere was very hip & happening. The music, decor, the crowd, furniture, everything was charming. We went as a family to have light cafe food & overate! Would highly recommend the Madras BBQ pizza & the Spaghetti Neapoli The Mint lemon coolant was a vibe. Hot chocolate art was dope. And the Ice creams at Rs.50 per scoop were amazingly smooth!

Really good restaurant to visit for a wide range of delicious dishes at all the while being reasonably priced. They also had a great selection of ice creams that were both good and cheap (50 rupees for a scoop). They had a writer style theme and had a book shelf with a nice collection of books and custom printed napkins to write on, which was cute. However, during rush hours, there were less number of waiters/servers (only a single server on one floor) which led to longer wait times. They should consider hiring more people during busy periods to avoid delays. That being said, the chicken lasagna was an absolute standout dish and a must-try for anyone dining here. The mushroom toasties and sticky lemon chicken were good too. Overall a very good cafe with good Italian food and friendly staff.

Best place for continental food. Nice ambience. Will recommend everyone to visit once while exploring White Town.

I like all about this place the ambiance the food but the service is very slow.. You can give it a try for good Italian food and then decide on basis of your own experience. But food was actually good.
