You get all authentic traditional Pudi, Pickles, Aplams, Thokus, etc etc,, Lot of varieties that you usually don't get in cities these days. Good pickles that we like here are Mamudu Kommulu, Chapram Chikadakai, Garlic Pudi, Papads and many more

One of the oldest hotel in Salem. It's been operated from the year 1938, recently 82 year anniversary was celebrated. They serve only vegetarian meals. And the limited rice price is 60 rupees, when the hotel started the price was 3 Anas it seems. The moment we enter the place you get aromas of sambar and rasam. Place is not so hygenic. During lunch time lot of people come and we need to wait at times. The food is decent for the price and it's not spicy and they don't add any soda in rice. There is no proper parking lot in front of the hotel.

Oldest hotel in Salem. It's located near Salem Old Bus Stand. Vysya type of traditional meals. They served only Meals from morning to evening 7pm. Good to have with stomach full.

Worst place to have food. Services is pathetic. Have 90 to 100 % North Indians and they don't know what you say. They switch on fan while cutting onions and which irritates your eyes. You can't have a peaceful meal while eating and would curse the almighty.

A wonderful place to have the dish, a olden type with a neat, superb lunch I had I recommend to eat here who all passes this area can have ur wonderful food here. A stomach full of rice for just Rs60.00. Everyone can visit if they reach near by place of old busstand. The shop is for past 85 years old with a superb customers

A very old and traditional restaurant. Run by an old couple in Salem. Very famous for the podi's (potti) like paruppu podi, poondu podi etc. And they are running this for more than 30-40 years. Food when served here, is started with rice and paruppu podi and oil before going to sambar and others. Separate table and chair for every individual while dining. After one and half years closure due to Covid19, they gave reopened the restaurant this month.

I felt like having rice for dinner on my way from Bangalore and when I searched, I was prescribed this hotel. I called to find out whether it is open and what's available. We took a detour and reached this hotel to see an old place, where this is being run since 1938. Food was simple delicious and it's just Rs.60. I also purchased fryums, herbal powders, snacks, etc., from the 80+years young couple, who work like teenagers

Old is gold.... Tasty lovers visit here for meals..
