I would 100% recommend this place to everyone.
The asana classes are really good and the way the schedule is made works perfectly for beginners and advanced students also. The philosophy class is given in a simple and clear way and will teach you so much about yoga and yourself.
The teachers are really good, they all come from different backgrounds and are very complementary, each of them share something different with the student which is a real add value to the yoga teacher training course.
Food is amazing and the accommodation is pretty good and clean.
I really thankful for all the things.
This place is a very special one.
It is a rare find in Rishikesh terms of quality of people with integrity towards what Yoga truly is.
Those who work inside are devoted to service. It is an inclusive place with a great energy and atmosphere.
The rooms are large, clean, bright and spacious.
The yoga hall is a magical place! The roof is a great place to start gaze or have a morning chai as the sun rises. There are big and beautiful mango trees all around the property. And, a great place for exercise in the back courts.
You will never regret staying here.

Wow, this place really held me back from leaving Rishikesh after a really bad experience in another ashram. Vishnu, the guy who runs this place is an open minded, super friendly peaceful man. The other staff and priests are also very kind and sweet. The energy that this place holds is so calm an beautiful, like a little oasis. I loved to wake up here every morning. Facilities are simple but nice and clean, I personally loved my room. Thank you so much Vishnu, for everything! =)
I visited Vishnu's Yoga Shala in August 2019. I was already in Rishikesh, staying elsewhere and looking for somewhere that had the atmosphere of authenticity, peace and tradition that I had been looking for. I visited a few yoga places and I wasn't convinced by them, but when I arrived I at Vishnu's place I instantly knew I had found the place I was looking for.
Although Vishnu's shala is located only a few steps from probably the main attraction in Rishikesh for tourists, as I soon as I walked in through the door it was as if the sound of the outside disappeared and a sense of peace came over me. The courtyard has two temples, each with an incredible history, and a beautiful tulsi plant takes pride of place - mother tulsi you as soon as you arrive.
Vishnu greeted me with warmth and welcome, and took lots of time getting to know me. He offers some wonderful meditation and a selection of yoga asana classes, on a pay as you go basis. Guests are also able to try to other classes in the area - although from my experience I'm not sure why you would want to, as Vishnu's were undoubtedly the best in the area!
The rooms are beautifully simple, large and comfortable. They were incredibly cheap for what was provided. Some have private bathrooms, others share - but since there are only maybe 9 in total there is never an issue getting into the bathroom. The whole place is kept beautifully clean. My room was on the roof and I could see an incredible view of the Ganga and Laxman Jhula (the bridge) from just outside it.
Vishnu has time for everyone and a caring and interested demeanour. His yogic teachings are perfectly complimented by his dual experiences of growing up in India, surrounded by tradition, and studying in the west in his youth - meaning he is the perfect teacher for any interested yoga student and a wonderful host for any visitor, be they from east or west.
I ended up staying for weeks, and when it was time to leave I didn't want to go! I would recommend anyone to visit Vishnu's yoga shala. It is the perfect place for you in Rishikesh, you will not be disappointed!
I feel fortunate to find this place during my stay in Rishikesh. Started with a drop in class and ended up taking a 14 day schedule. Vishnu Ji is one of the humblest and kind person and the yoga teachers here are amazing.. If looking to learn yoga and want to live in a very calm and peaceful environment then this place is on the top of the list..
Vishnu Shala Yoga is a real gem. Vishnu himself isn't like other yoga centre people. He's lived in Europe and given up all his success there to return to his spiritual and birth home of India.
I've been to Rishikesh 5 times and here I've found a place I'll return to each time (I stay 3 weeks on my way to and from Australia from Europe each year).
It's clean, centrally located opposite the Laxman Jula Bridge and German Bakery and has a really good vibe.
Highly recommended!

I've been coming to Vishnu Yoga Shala every few months since 2017. I come to Rishikesh often alone and with friends and have scoured various places that provide a good fit of yoga classes, and a clean, pleasant accommodation and none hold the candle close to Vishnu's. I love staying here as the rooms are clean, and the ambience is extremely peaceful and pleasant. The serenity here brings instant calmness and I've met some of the best teachers for both Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa classes here.
More so, the other things I love about VYS, is the variety or pooja ceremonies one can see/participate on a regular basis.
The owner/manager, Vishnu, is really helpful, polite and friendly. He can be a wonderful guide for your spiritual journey as well.
All in all, after staying in hotels, PGs, hostels, and airbnbs, OYOs in Rishikesh, Vishnu's is the place I always prefer. Highly recommend.
Vishnu Yoga Shala is run with passion and delight by hosts Vishnu & Sue.. The stay here was amazing , the premise is clean, serene, beautiful with very positive vibes. The Yoga classes that are run, are good and the teacher takers care of every individual's level and challenges. I will highly recommend the place for an authentic, calm and quiet stay in Rishikesh.
