Vettangudi Bird Sanctuary - Bird watching area in singampunari, Tirupattur - Sivaganga, India

Good place for kids and family trip. If you're in the way back to madurai from thirupathur then you can visit this place as it is full of birds. If you're a bird watcher then it's a must visit place as this place is having a watch tower. We can visit throughout the year as the birds are always there. But tamilnadu tourism suggested to visit between November and January. See the enclosed photos to get an idea about this place. Enjoy your visit..

When we visited in July end. It was very hot and there was not even a single bird at sight. We got to know that only during December to February we have the migratory birds and the place offers wonderful scenary

It was kind of an ok place. Not much activities. I went during monsoon in November And there were very few birds only. There are 2 watch towers and a small children's park too. We spent an hour in total.

Peaceful environment and best place to see the migrated birds from other continents during the November to February month every year. But the forest department and tourism department definitely should put more resources to improve the place. There is no toilet facility or any restaurant nearby. So family trips may not enjoyable for everyone. There is someone from forest department most of the time, from whom you can get binoculars, but it's best you bring a good binoculars or long zoom lens cameras for bird watching. And important note don't litter the place with garbage and preserve the nature.

Amazing place for bird lovers. The people and the village inside the sanctuary are very sensible towards the birds, which is a great sign towards nature. They don't burst cray and people get fined on making vehicle horn. Lot of water birds sighted toward including asian openbill stork, cormorants, night herons, painted stork, egret. Apart from birds saw lot of butterflies and other insects.

Perfect place for watching birds with pure and calm environment. Still under developed spot but gave a peaceful feel. The season will be Nov to Feb and should be in spot during sunrise and sunset. No hotels or washrooms are available.

During my visit in month of December... Saw more than 6 type of birds.. .. Watching tower is available. Place not maintain properly.. Very good place for this area

Nice ecology but maintanance not ok. A park will be damage condition and watching tower also damaging,but no entrance fees,so closely watching a bird and November to march season so all kind of birds coming into the forest
