Beautiful place in middle of the pond .. access to this temple is through boat .. reached the place early morning by 9 clock had to wait for more people to come to cross in boat.. they charge 20 rupees for to and fro. Nice place..
Very peaceful and beautiful place. Highlights are temple which is 1300+ years old, a small walk beside field, boat ride to the temple, beautiful view of mother nature. Actually still there are many.
SURREAL Temple at Varanga in the Udupi district. Jain Temple located in the center of the lake, which is then surrounded by the greenery is so serene and soothing to watch from the other side. The lake is filled with lot of fishes, jumping here and there. In order to visit the temple one has to go across the water, and only means of transport are the boats. The boatmen are very friendly and will let you capture pictures. A must visit place. The most prominent temples here are Kere Basadi and the Neminath Basadi The best time to visit Varanga Jain temple including Varanga Kere Basadi is during the months of October to February. Nice place. There is another Basadi right opposite and a Matt on the pathway to lake. Boat charge Rs20 per person. People with shorts / sleeveless are not allowed. Try to reach early as it gets very hot in afternoon. And boat ride is closed between 1PM - 3.30PM.
The Varanga Lake Jain Temple is truly a hidden gem! Situated in the middle of the lake, it exudes an aura of serenity and beauty that's unlike any other. Our visit, unfortunately, coincided with the temple's closure at 2pm, but it was still a memorable experience. I was fascinated to learn about the unique tradition of discussing marriage at this temple and the significance of the Prasad for predicting the quality of married life. Although we couldn't explore the Varanga Lake Jain Temple, the nearby ancient Jain temple near the parking area was a delightful alternative. Its rich history and intricate beauty provided a glimpse into the cultural and spiritual heritage of the region. If you're in the area, these temples are well worth a visit, offering a truly unique and enriching experience.
Wonderful !! Its a unique temple built exactly in the middle of lake and sorrouding landscape makes it even more beautiful There is on more ancient basadi at the entrance and good thing is separate jain matt is incharge of these rather than biased govt treasure dept. That's is why it is maintained well. Note: Boating is required to enter this temple and need to wait until its available from other side. Timings - 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM

This temple is an amazingly calm place to visit. The architecture is old and many of the sculptures and carvings are eroding away. The surroundings are extremely tranquil. The darshan of god inside is good.
