Vanvaas Homestay - Home Stay in Shimla - Shimla, India

We had an excellent stay in Vanvaas, secluded and far away from the noise and the crowds of the city. They provided very good service and were extremely hospitable. The food was good too if you enjoy home cooked meals though it took a little long to get served as there is only one cook available, but as long as you ordered the food beforehand it's delivered on time.

Really nice place great view and great people. The guy on site will cook you dinner and serve you chai. He will also let you use his hotspot if you ask nicely, and if you are nice he won't mind you asking again. Bed a little firm, but that's a trend with home stays as opposed to hostels for some reason. Let's not lie, it's cold at night in winter,but it was to be expected and well worth the views. Not loads to do but there is a joke to a waterfall and great views in the immediate surroundings. Marked down a little because of the bed but unless you are a terribly bad sleeper I would recommend this place.

The place is secluded from the noise and very peaceful.. Thick forest and clam and serene.. People are very good and generous.And provided us with excellent food . Rooms, blanket, washrooms are very clean as well.. The tour package they provide is also pocket friendly than other stays.. Thanks

Location is a taxi ride away from anywhere but if you ask there are things to do. They will arrange cycling or trekking and there is a nice waterfall. The place itself is beautiful. Great views and perfect place to just hang out for a day or two, or longer if you do the activities as well! The feller looking after the place was so nice, he provided me with tea and a meal for dinner which was lovely, not on the house, but very reasonable price. He also didn't mind me asking over and over to use his hotspot The owner called to make sure I was OK then acted as my taxi the next morning and took me to the new bus stand for my bus to d'sala for 400INR. Cold at night but this is to be expected and they have plenty of blankets. Very clean bedroom and bathroom. Only thing that stopped it being a 5* was the bed itself. A little hard. However unless you are an absolutely terrible sleeper I would recommend this plCe, I had no problem sleeping personally once I got my head down. I provided this feedback to the owner and he said he would look at new mattresses, he was very reasonable and kind. Very honest people and trustworthy. When in car the owner tried to give me the change I had forgotten about. It was a small amount but I nice gesture to show they can be trusted.

It was a wonderful stay at vanvaas homestay.Great hospitality.It was my second time and i would love to be there again. Yes it is 12km far from shimla but for me it is a real blessing..If you want to detox yourself from city life and looking out for peace then this is the place to be... Owner Mr. Mohit Thakur is quite humble and always ready to help and guide you for your best experience...

Property location was little bit far from the Shimla and road was quite narrow. We tried food, it was good enough. Staff was very good in handling the all services. We didn't go outside the premises and stayed in. Apart from the location, stay was fine there.

It was truly an amazing stay...we stayed there for 4 days and it was the best homestay experience ever with a 5 star service. Mohit ji specially is an amazing person ...they took care of our family and gave us the best service. Food is best...home cooked ...both veg n non veg items.... delicious! Fresh and clean food. Words are short for the experience we had. Location is amazingly different...only 20 minutes walk to a waterfall. Location, service n food everything was fantastic.

Very homely atmosphere in the property. The property is far from the main city otherwise I was very satisfied with the room and bathroom which they provided. They had their own kitchen and food was very delicious.View from outside the property is beautiful.
