Unkal Lake - Featured Reviews (768)
Nice place to enjoy cool evening breeze sitting by the side of the lake... But the garden adjacent to it lacks maintenance... Everything there is rusty and shows lack of maintenance...Two viewpoints are there...view of the lake and sunset is stunning from the towers...Entry fee is Rs.10 for adults and Rs.5 for kids... Ample amount of parking space both for two and four wheelers available in front of the gate...it is paid parking... But if you don't want to pay you can park your car by the side of main road...
I am a resident of Jaipur and have been visiting lake for long walks ever since childhood. I have seen people from all walks of life come to lake for morning and evening walks. I like to walk the talk here with friends and family. The environment of the lake is very conducive for deep introspection. Watching the sunrise or sunset gives me an exhilarating experience and makes me feel one with God and Nature. Of late you can see the water shimmering like silver if you go around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and makes the whole area look so calm and serene and beautiful. At the other end of the lake there is now a Buddha Park with a very beautiful calm and serene statue of Lord Buddha in sitting pose. At the entrance you will find the lake club, restaurant, lots of vendors selling eatables, and a big play zone for kids where you can enjoy with kids. Also, there are ducks in the lake which you can feed or go for a boat ride. There are plenty of things to do here. It has become an activity centre for people. All in all an enjoyable experience.
Unkal Lake is a beautiful picnic spot and a major source of drinking water for the twin cities of Hubli & Dharwad. About 110 years old
Need to be repair or replacement both view point, lot of people's are visiting daily
Not maintained , DO NOT VISIT
Well there is hardly anything to see in Hubli/Dharwad. Google showed us this as one of the recommendations. We reached the place around 11.
The entry fee is 10 per person and 10 per vehicle (car) and 5 per 2 wheeler
There is a vivekananda statue in the center of the lake, and there is a boat that would take you there but currently they don't have the same.
Overall there is nothing good about this place. Help yourselves by not wasting your time visiting this place
Unkal lake is spread across 200 acres of land. Center of the lake is situated the statue of Swami Vivekananda which is the prime attraction of the lake. The walking pathways are not well maintained. There is a temple near by. The lake itself is not very clean. Plastic and Pooja items are seen floating. Needs to be maintained. People shouldn't be allowed to throw waste into this lake.
Before the place was so good to look and to enjoy.. Now it's became very dirty all drainage water is entering into it. And if u even go for boating u will get kind of disease/infection.. Ya but still it's a nice place to enjoy and have fun with friends and family..
A breezy place with wonderful views of the lake and its surroundings. A statue of Swami Vivekananda stands at the centre of the lake. We viewed the lake from the adjoining park and also the temple side.
