Ujjayanta Palace Museum - Museum in Agartala - West Tripura, India

Beautiful and serene. They don't give permission to take photos, but the outer side of the Museum door has a beautiful design and view. It's a shame I can't see that whenever I walk down through memory land as I go through albums.

Great collections of historical/heritage/ cultural articles and antiques. Even three hours may be inadequate to draw full benefits of the information provided/displayed here. Thanks to all who have created and developed this museum with high standards and maintenance.

Beautiful from outside. Enchanting inside. Photography should be allowed inside. We take photographs on tours for our own reminiscence only and showing friends and relatives who could not visit.

This royal house is ahead with history. Right in the international direction and ahead. There are many memories of the Bangladesh Liberation War in this building. The Government of India takes great care in keeping them. I am a citizen of Bangladesh. I like visiting this museum very much. i love India

It provides an elaborate history of not only the royal family of Tripura but also the culture of its people, flora and fauna of the State. The museum also provides insight to the 1971 freedom struggle of Bangladesh. The museum also houses various tableaus of the whole of North East along with a to scale topographic map of India and The Northeast.

The place is quiet and family friendly, you can watch the beautiful palace with the museum inside. Ticket price Rs40 for Indians, Rs100 for Bangladeshi and Rs250 for other nationalities. You can use mobile to click photos or record videos but camera or Handycam is chargeable. A light and sound show is also conducted there with separate charge. The only disappointing thing is the drainage system, water accumulated there with such high that if someone is wearing a closed shoe, it has to be taken off. And the water accumulation at its most at the entrance of the palace building. So that's a disappointment. Otherwise everything is fine, there are 2 small ponds at both the sides of the palace. I visited on Monday and they opened it at 2pm.

Palace is really beautiful . There is a museum which is open for visitors although it is chargeable (40 rupees per Indian visitor). In museum mostly it is pictorial illustration of Tripura and Northern eastern region of India. Bangladeshi liberation against Pakistan is also portrayed. It opens at 10.15 am.

Ujjayanta palace now turned into the state's museum. It was built by Maharaja Radha kishore Manikya (1901). The museum has so much knowledge and information about the state, the infrastructure of the palace is top notch. When you enter the palace you can definitely feel the Royal environment and it's a nice place for a photoshoot.
