A very rugged and steep road goes up to this fort from Arki Town below (it's only 500 mt, so not too long). But after all that bumpy driving, we found that the fort is currently closed for repairs, and nobody could tell us when it would reopen.
Fort is closed for Public and is a private property now which is converted into homestay. You may book a room here or dine-in.
Amazing Fort. It is devided into two parts from the front side it is under Arki Homeguard Unit and from the back end it is open for the public.
Amazing wall paintings and still alive but lack of management beauty day by day decreases. Govt. should take a necessary action otherwise it will become a disappointment.

Arki palace is located in Arki, India, a town in Himachal Pradesh .
The Arki palace was built between 1695 - 1700 by Rana Prithvi Singh, a descendent of Rana Sabha Chand. The Fort was captured by the Gurkhas in 1806. Rana Jagat Singh, the ruler of Baghal had to take refuge in Nalagarh. During this period from 1806 - 1815, the Gurkha General Amar Singh Thapa used Arki as his stronghold to make further advances into Himachal Pradesh as far as Kangra. Arki was the capital of the princely hill state of Baghal, which was founded by Rana Ajai Dev, a Panwar Rajput. The state was founded around 1643 and Arki was declared as its capital by Rana Sabha Chand in 1650.

This is an amazing fort. Definitely a must visit. But main entrance was closed so had to take the other entrance from main market.
