Trinath Sahoo Dahibara Aloodum - Food court in Cuttack - Cuttack, India

Well as a traveller I came across many dishes which shocked me and rest of the people from other states so here am posting this Weird combination for rest of the world but pride of cuttack and the whole Odisha.. Which is Dahibada aloo dum ghugni.. Yes You heard it correct it's a combination of these three things.. Cold dahivada with hot and spicy aloo dum and Ghugni (usually) . Ghugni is White matar peas gravy then they top it with salt , roasted jeera powder, some Sev namakeen then onion . It's a Chatpata dish gives you different flavors in each bites.. Well I just loved it.. It's a wow delicacy.

This is the best Place to enjoy the Cuttack authentic food . The flavour is quite mutton smell but actually no mutton fat added. The best part is the salt and the mitha bara . The end part is the dahi Pani and seu bhoga... Must visit and enjoy each bite .

After having horrible experiences form 2-3 places in cuttack for it's famous dahibara aloodum,I decided to check this out. Located at main road side when traveling to chandi temple or SB women's college from kanika square,it falls on the right side. It's inside a building,facing road on ground floor with an aquarium shop and pet food supply shop near to it. They have signboard so hard to miss.kind of not like regular dahibara aloodum shops which are mostly stalls,moveable ones. Anyway,parked my bike on left side,crossed the road. Shop was kind of filled with people. Ordered 1 full plate. As I mentioned earlier,cuttack prices are always high than bhubaneswar prices,it cost me Rs 50 full plate. The plate with that amount of money and quantity was okay. Taste wise,when I took the first bite,the tons of spices added hit my mouth and it was hot. Since the shop opened 10-15 minutes or so,everything was blazing hot. They did haves those big containers of ghuguni and aloodum on gas burners I guess. So taste was hot but was quite different a satisfying one than rest of horrible ones I had before in cuttack,also from known places in Buxi bazar area and killa maidan. This was out of the way. Really enjoyed. Even if I eat a little, this full plate had me full. I had light snack before it from famous 50 paisa snacks shop but after this,all I wanted was to lie down and rest. Fully satisfied from this place

Sadly, the dahibara wasn't that good to balance it. The aloo dum is overpowering the overall taste (reminded me of mutton kasha).

The outlet is a famous landmark in cuttack. The Dahi Bara Alu Dam taste is unique and a must try. Slightly spicy but that's how it is. The bland Dahi Bara needs the tinge of spice from Alu Dam to whip your palette to want more. Together with dash of chopped onions and sew, the combination is unbeatable. One can relish it standing, served on a leaf bowl and wooden stick or pack for home. Crowd management is a problem, so 4 stars. Else it's top class.

Tasty Dahibara and aaloodum. They have a very unique taste and adding extra green chutney and dahi above the dish makes it more tastier.

I don't think the taste here is better than the stalls near babatti ground. Beside the barbatti stadium, the stalls there give some really good dahibara. I would rate this pretty average.
