Korean fried chicken tasted unreal but was not crispy at all and was so soggy... how is something deep fried so soggy?
Lotus stem was awful. All I could taste was LEMONGRASS. We had a bite & had to send it back
Truffle fries were great! As was the dip served with it
The ricotta dish was decent: 4/5
I've had burrata a million times at restaurants and this by far tasted a bit off compared to the rest.
Kimchi fried rice was unreal! Definitely made in a wok because it was so well cooked thoroughly
Chicken tacos were so so good! Avocado tacos were apparently good too but I didn't try them myself
The waiter recommended we go for the below dessert instead of cheesecake. The cake itself tasted great but I didn't like the sauce it was surrounded with (tasted like rasmalai).
I tried their beetroot burger a few years ago and it was amazing at the time. Forgot to try it again during this visit
Toast & Tonic, just next to O Pedro was a last minute decision. We didn't know what to expect.
The restaurant had a charming vibe. Shannon was brilliant in his recommendation. The dishes that were spot on are. Chicken wings, Korean fried chicken, Italian noodles with a generous portion of parmesan. The chicken burgers were a tad dry. We had avocado honeycomb icecream. The avocado ice cream was creamy and delightful. Honeycomb a little too burnt for my liking. It was slightly chewy texture instead of a crunch. There was live music. Jack and the juke box I think was the name. This added to the charm of Toast n Tonic.
Over priced, and average food.
Loved the concept of unique gin cocktails but still very very over priced for the place and setup. Food is also very ok. Portion size is very small too. Every dish is only designed for an individual
Wouldn't recommend more than once.
10/10 for staff and service. Very friendly, helpful staff
Ambience is ok but gets really dark at night, looks the best in day light
Genuine & not a paid review:
1) Vibe & Atmosphere (3.5 on a scale of 5):
This is quaint little gem amidst a chain of classic restaurants in the heart of BKC (Adjacent to O Pedro). It has a no nonsense interior which is rustic & nothing too jazzy. We went on a Sunday lunch hour and it was moderately packed and there were minimal lights to support any conclusion if the place lights up in the evenings or not. If you're looking for a typical happening place with a catchy loud vibe, you should pass on this one.
2) Food & Drinks (4.5 on a scale of 5)
A) Dan Dan Noodles:
This is the dish to thrive on at this place. It's a work of art. I haven't eaten such fine & flavourful Noodles in my entire life. It was tossed in minced Cauliflower, Bok Choy and other vegetables and garnished with fried garlic & peanuts. Also, one peculiar thing I noticed was, it was prepared in a unique sort of Olive Oil (couldn't figure out) which was a standout thing as well.
3) Service & Hygiene (4.5 on a scale of 5):
The service & hospitality needs to be top notch when you are one of the premium restaurants at a premium locality and I didn't find anything which didn't justify that. They were welcoming, orders were served on time, recommendations were tailor-made as per our food preferences, overview of the dishes were very well articulated. Hygiene was not a concern at all, since the plates & cutlery were quite clean.
4) Is it worth your money ? (4 on a scale of 5)
A) Pro's: If you're blindly going here for the food, it won't dash your hopes especially the Dan Dan Noodles. You can also try Asian Noodle bowl (we didn't go for that as it is suppose to be on a sweeter note). Service and hygiene is again top notch, didn't find anything which was a turn off.
B) Con's:
The only thing which slightly was below par was the vibe and ambience of the place as compared to other classic restaurants out there. Don't get me wrong, its still a fantastic place to have a crack at but a little dull for my liking. Also, its a bit heavy on the wallet given its at a premium location trying to compete with some of the best restaurants out there.
This restaurant excels in three key areas: fantastic food, a strategic location near offices, and an outstanding cocktail and mocktail menu.
First and foremost, the food at Toast and Tonic is simply outstanding. The menu boasts a delightful array of dishes that offer a unique twist on classic favorites. From their artisanal toasts to their delectable mains, each dish was a culinary masterpiece. The use of fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident in every bite, and the flavors were a symphony of taste sensations.
Must try dishes:
1. Lotus stem chips
2. Cauliflower soup
The restaurant's location in Bandra Kurla Complex makes it an ideal choice for busy professionals looking for a quick, satisfying meal. Its proximity to offices allows for convenient lunch meetings or a relaxing dinner after a long day at work. The sleek and modern ambiance adds to the overall appeal, creating an inviting atmosphere.
This is special appreciation review for the super amazing Dan Dan noodles of this place!!!
I mean, it's just out of the Everytime I go there, I always order these and they never ever fail to disappoint me!
If I crave for noodles, it's specifically this dish...I am in love with it
The place is good but the drinks are way OVERPRICED. I paid 1200 (YES) for this tiny bit of cocktail. And plus they haven't added prices on the menu which is a smart move. But brace yourself for a big hole in your wallet once you see the bill.
Went here on a Friday night after an event in BKC. Amazing food, had ordered for the Risotto and tacos. Service is fabulous.Only thing is that their table for two are a bit small and close to the other tables. Hope they would work on this. But overall had a great time and look forward to going back soon ;)
