Kayarohana Swami temple (Lord Shiva) is there at 1 KM from here. Raja Tea Kadai is there at opposite to this temple. In this shop, Vada, Bajji and Tea are tasty.

Sri Soundaraja perumal temple is situated in the town itself. From Railway station and old busstand Straight road by walkable distance. When you came from Tanjore, Kumbakonam via Thiru varoor,bus Stop named as perumal koil Stop is very near from temple , even if you missed this Stop, Next Stop you can get down Stop named as Old bus stand, Railway station Stop. Very neat house keeping. It's one of the Divya Desam , Thayar named as Soundarya Valli. Both perumal and thayar are so beautiful.moolavar Nindra thirukolam, in the same hall veetrintha kolam and kidantha kolam Sri ranganathar also can we get darisanam. Always can't express by words about THIRU MAAL Perumai. Can't compressed with our words.

Soundararaja Perumal temple is Divya Desam number 21, located in Nagapattinam in the state of Tamil Nadu, 27 kms from Thiruvarur and 65 Kms from Kumbakonam. The name of the Perumal indicates the beauty and glistening skin of the deity. Nindra Thirukolam with 5 weapons. Temple is famous for 3 festivals. Rituals done 6 times a day. Goddess is known as Soundaravalli. Deities were worshipped by Adishesa and Nagas hence place came to be known as Nagarpattinam which became Nagapattinam with time. Timings 7.30 am to 12 noon and 4.30 to 8 pm.

The Soundararajaperumal Temple is a temple dedicated to the Hindu god, Vishnu. It is located in Nagapattinam, a town in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Constructed in Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, the early medieval Tamil canon of the Alvar saints from the 6th-9th centuries CE. It is counted as one among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. Vishnu is worshiped as Soundararaja Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as Soundaravalli.

Nice Temple. Walkable distance for from Nagapattinam Railway Station. Temple has a small pond inside. Perumal was beautiful.

Our first visit to Nagapattinam was about 8 years back in the month of November. Three families left Srirangam by Ranga Cabs Travera at 6.30 A.M to visit several Divya desams in Chozha Nadu. It was atwo day trip and we visited Nagapattinam the following day from Tirukanamangai. Nagapattinam was in the news for its havoc causing Tsunami. This temple town on the sea coast was a famous Buddhist centre in the fourth century and was famous for its pearls and gems.We were visiting Soundararaja temple which houses Moolavar Neelamegha Perumal in standing Posture facing east Utsavar flanked by Sridevi and Bhu devi is Soundararaja Perumal. Thayar is Soundaravalli and vimanam is Soundarya vimanam and the kshetram is called Soundarya kshetram.The Deity (Moolavar) was decked from Head to Feet in exquisite jewellery and emanated a king of greenish hue. We were told that since stock-taking was to take place He was so adorned.We couldn't believe our luck and as it was not crowded feasted our eyes on His Soundaryam wondering if the jewels added to His Beauty or vice versa? Our next trip happened on the 3rd of June 2018 when 55 women belonging to Srirangam Strigal Stotra pata group went for Paduka sahasra parayanam. We left at 4.00 in the morning reached Nagapattinam by 7.30 and started parayanam by 8.00A.M and finished the 1008 slokams by 12.30 p.m. with a 10 minute interval for hot milk.After the parayanam there was a puspavrishti(flower shower) for LakshmiNrisimha and swami Desikan. We visited Soundararaja temple when it opened in the evening and had good darsan of Perumal and Thayar. We got to see Lakshminrisimhan and swami Desikan in purappadu and left for Srirangam late evening.

Perumal here is an absolute stunner......The temple entrance hall has something very unique in the form of two elephants on a pedestal.....it definitely will catch your attention and will intrigue u for it's dazzling nature ....Coming to Perumal ,No words to describe his astounding zillion dimensional Beauty....Be cautious enough not to be lost in his transcendental Beauty......
