Can't come out it massive structure. Well built, huge pillars ( real huge omg). I was miscalculated seeing the enterance of the building that it was small but after entering into the premises I was stunned. Renovating works was being carried out so we couldn't have a look all around the place but it was good and well spent time. Additionally we didn't have to pay entry fee since it is World Heritage week. Outside the premises park was also there where we can spend time and small road side shops were also there. Must visit one and highly recommended.

If you are in Madurai, this palace is a must visit. This was probably the first palace built in India with Italian - Dravid architecture. It is very beautiful, but really needs maintenance. It has very rare and old archeological monuments, which needs to be stored more properly in my opinion. You can just sit , relax and watch the art peacefully. Very beautiful construction beautiful construction kindly please avoid travelling by your own vehicle. Since the parking is not available nearby and it is very crowded. There might be chances of rashes on your car. pricing. The entry price for one adult is the Rs10 and also this is a very beautifully constructed building with big pillars. But the building is still under construction or renovation. As of now maybe it will be done sooner but this is none of the good places in Madurai?

Great architecture. A courtyard surrounded by huge circular pillars. Should visit in evening, then you can watch musical light show. Should buy tickets for entry. Photography allowed.

This palace is under renovation. As compared to Thanjavur palace, this is relatively bigger one. But, the number and quality of artefacts what find in Thanjavur is not find here. Of course, a museum contains rarest monuments. The architecture of the building is so nice with many big halls especially dancing hall. The sculptures found here are very old collection and worthy to visit. The paintings and interior designs on the roof is simply amazing. Ticket price is Rs. 10/ per person. Parking is sufficient.

This is one of the must visit place in Madurai. In the evening they conduct a light and sound show. However due to time constraints, I could not see that. But local people and guide were praising a lot about it. So if you have time, plan a visit in such a manner that you can have a tour of the palace and you can also attend the show. You will need an hour or maximum two hours. History of this palace is such that a movie can be made. Palace seems to have seen many rulers and seems used, modified, adopted as per the wish of the ruler. I loved the history of King and His Grandson attached to the palace and fate of the palace. When you visit Palace, it feels you are visiting a palace of any foreign country. The structure, the design, the material more similar to the palace usually we see in Italy Or Spain or may be Greece. What I love the most is the combination of Palace and Blue Sky. Thats the real beauty. Palace has changed a lot from the time of it's original construction over the period of time and even right now it was under renovation, when I Visited in June 2023 but history, collection displayed in the palace and architecture will surely please you. Definitely a worth visiting this palace and explore the history.

Thirumalai Namakkal has initiated this building structure in madurai, based on inscriptions it's look like constructed and designed by Italian architects. Even Building structure resembles Italian and European style, we can see it's have tomb like structure with huge pillars. Must to visit
