THE VILLA HIMALAYA - Hotel in Gund, Forest Block - Ganderbal, India

This accommodation is stunning, right next to the Sind river. We booked the balcony room and the view of the river is so surreal. The staff at the hotel need a special mention, very very pleasant and helpful. The staff manning the reception couldn't be bothered but they can be ignored because the rest of the staff made up for it with their service. The food at the hotel is the BEST we had in all of Kashmir. We ordered local Kashmiri dishes and they were all so good. Breakfast by the river is something we will never forget!

Loved the Service and the sun baked lawn. The reading area is well stacked, and the Kahwa keeps on coming. The roar of the river does well to drown out the noise of the heavy earth movers working across the river side (possibly temporary). The rooms are comfy, prefer the river facing ones since they're slightly larger. The rooms did need lil more swabbing and dusting. Overall, will visit again.

Located alongside the river it is a lovely property with great views Secluded and a short distance away from Sonamarg it is the ideal getaway and a good launchpad for treks or drives. The rooms as well as the whole property are very well done up and extremely comfortable .

It was a well maintained property. The staff was really helpful and co-operative. Has an amazing restaurant with really good cooks. They customize food to match ua taste. The rooms were neat and clean. Has heater facility in the room. Service was good. The property is located at an amazing place with lovely river views and snow capped mountains in the background. Recommended for stay when in Sonmarg. A couple friendly hotel.

One of the best properties I have stayed in ever! I expected a great stay, but our one night stay turned out to be outstanding. We stayed in the first-floor balcony room that faces the Sind river. It was cold & rainy when we reached but the property was warm & welcoming. Food was spectacular. Both the buffet dinner & the breakfast were lipsmacking good. The service is great & the staff genuinely wants to make your stay comfortable. The bed & bath linen, however, could be cleaner than what we had. So maybe the HK dept needs to pay a little more attention to this. Will definitely stay here again. The location is a million bucks! Happy!!

The rooms are very comfortable and well serviced by the staff. The service is personal and attentive and friendly. One cannot get a better location then on the banks of River Sind. The food was delicious and well prepared. Sajid and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make it special .

Beautiful staff, beautiful property, amazing chef , great quality food... location 100/100. The service just makes it the best place to stay in sonmarg.
