Nice park and nature preserve with lots to see including monkeys, wild boars, crocodiles, birds and plenty of nature. The park is quite big and involves a bit of walking, so bring your hiking shoes. Feels like you are in the middle of the Amazon rain forest with all the giant trees surrounding you. Great place to visit to get lost in nature for a few hours.
This place is situated near Chidiyatapu. One can walk here from the Bus stand. Bus frequency is 1 per hour. There are mostly goats, deers, birds and reptiles in this Zoo. The flora on the other hand is what makes this place beautiful. There are very tall trees and very good points to take photographs. There are some enclosures of indigenous birds as well. If you have a lot of free time, you should visit this place else it can be skipped as the variety of birds are very less. Travel responsibly, do not litter.
Various types of wild animals including reptiles and birds are there in this place . You can get a glimpse of crab eating monkeys if being lucky enough. Travel system is exactly like NSCB ( Ross) island . You can either roam around by walk ( we opted for this, there was no time limit) or can hire a golf cart on counting of persons. A good place if you have time in your hand while visiting Chidiya Taphu.
This is a beautiful place! However, they could maintain it better with more animals and signs. So easy to get lost. In the monsoons, paths are slippery. Best to visit it before 4 pm as it quickly gets dark. We saw wild pigs, crocodiles, deer, some birds, monkeys and monitor lizards. The trees are beautiful!
If you are a birder, a bird photographers or you want your children to get close to nature then this isn't the place. Do make a note that the place opens 9am in morning so plan accordingly. Good place to understand the flora as well as fauna of the Islands. If anyone looking for a birding trip can contact us directly also.
Great place for bird watching especially in the morning. During 4 days stay in Andaman island, I observed over 20 bird species I never seen before. Some of them were seen is this park and the other seen around this park. And over half of them only exist in Andaman Islands. There are two bus company available to reach this park from Port Bria every 40 min. But on Sunday very less May be 1 or 2 every 2 hours.
This is a superb park at the southern most end of Port Blair called Chidiya Tapu (Bird Island). It has various nature trails and a host of wildlife. The flora and fauna are quite spectacular. They also offer a buggy ride for an extra price. Doing the nature trails on foot is a stunning, relaxing and soothing experience. It's also a stone's throw from the beach where there is the famous Sunset point. This place is a must visit if in Port Blair.
A calm and quiet park with lot very big trees. Also you can see different species of birds, crocodile, wild pig, deer etc. There is an entry fee of 30 rupees. It is a must visit place in Andaman.
