Upper end of The Lift that opens at start of The Mall road. Cost per head is 10/- for one side. Gets crowded during evenings, especially weekend. Tickets can't be bought in advance, need to stand in queue to buy on spot. There are two legs of the lift to get down to service road where vehicles are allowed. Take left after exiting to get to all famous places like The Ridge and Scandal Point. There is a shortcut to Jakhoo Ropeway from this end but path is a bit steeper.
Pay and use Lifts helping everyone visiting Shimala. Reduces our fattigue to explore more places near by The Mall Road.

Lovely place and climate with magnificent views of shimla city over mountains , you have to buy tickets to use the lift to go to mall road. Per person and per luggage is 10 rs. There is always rush on weekends.
Open from 8 am to 11 pm. Costs Rs 10 per person and Rs 10 per piece of luggage. Convenient means to travel from lower area in Shimla to the Mall road which is a pedestrian ( no vehicles allowed) street at higher level. At times when lift is not in operation, one can go by stairs and there are porters who can be engaged to carry luggage. Long queues at peak hours but moved fast.
Lift service is fine, issue is the public how act like animals pushing and shoving, as if very second saved getting to the top is a matter of life and death.
The lift is overcrowded! I feel they should make an another big lift atleast! The lift was so overfilled that all the people were touching to each other !
Just a easy access approach which is commercialized by HP govt. They should make it free given the number of tourists visit here and the indirect income govt. earns.
