Never have I ever had a worst experience, giving 1 star as lower option is not available. I recently did a spa at Loccitane by Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa, Gulmarg India We had gone for a spa on 17th March, 2022 & had booked a couple's escape, to be pampered for our anniversary stay. We had great expectations from Loccitane brand and hence we chose to get spa done here. However, our expectations were soon shattered. to begin with, there was no form/verbal confirmation regarding the type of massage desired or the level of pressure & focus area (which is basic of any good spa) further there were no options given to select oils too (even on asking the therapist, we were told only one oil is there and only 1 type of massage is there with no other option). Further, we asked them that traditionally in every spa they start with foot reflexology & dip the feet in water first (there were chairs & bowls to do so too in the room which we could see), however the they refused that that is not done in a couple massage. Moving on, the massage included a bath, which was not ready beforehand & the female therapist was making it ready between the massage & again and again being a disturbance & spoiling the continuity. Moving on at the end, post massage we tried to go for the bath but it was burning hot and not humanly possible to sit in it & we had to ourselves make the temperature fine by draining & adding cold water (the therapists didn't care to make us check the temperature before leaving which is a standard practice. Moving on after the shower, we had requested a pair of disposable slippers as we had come in our shoes & wanted to go to the pool downstairs, however to our horror we were given a dirty and used disposable slipper, which is not at all expected. Icing on the cake was that post/pre massage there was no offer of green tea or water too, which is very basic of any spa experience & even on complaining the spa manager Mr. Chandrachur, (over call as he was out shopping vegetables), he did not apologise or had it served, rather he just told, that it would have been served but you guys left ( rather I was waiting there, and the person at counter had only kept the invoice ready to be signed and didn't offer anything even on asking the same). Our whole experience was destroyed & we have never been so disappointed at a spa (even ones which charge 1/4th of the amount we paid). I do not know what regulation is your brand having and we want an immediate action towards this. as on complaining in the hotel all were deaf ears and we didn't even receive a basic apology from them

I was very excited to stay at this Hotel as this was my first time at this hotel. Hotel is in a very good location. The buildings and the rooms are very well done and nicely decorated. However, everything good about this hotel , unfortunately stops there. The hotel claims to be 5-star, however, the service and amenities are barely 3-star. Right from the check-in, service is poor. There is only one check-in desk which is not even properly marked. Guest are just standing around to check-in. The staff at the check -in desk is not fully trained which makes check-in an arduous process. There is only one resturant in the hotel which has to serve all the guests staying in the hotel. This makes for crowded tables and poor , slow service. The food choices are very limited. The buffet is over priced with very poor voices. Plates and utensils are dirty and not up to par for a so called 5 Star hotel. Room service leaves a lot to be desired. Out of 4 dishes that we ordered, 3 were made wrong despite us walking to the restart and talking to the person taking the order personally. Prices for everything are exorbitant. Even to open the sofa bed in our room for our kids, we were charged 9000 rupees. I paid 9000 rupees to stay in JW Marriott in Delhi for a full room with excellent breakfast buffet and to and fro airport transfers. There were only two bath towels in the bathroom of the premium room for which the charge was 20,000 rupees per night. The staff was very reluctant to provide us with more towels. They wanted to charge us even for that. Overall, I had a very bad experience at this hotel and will not ever again stay here. It saddens me that such a beautiful hotel is going to go waste because of poor management. Being a Kashmiri, it saddens me more that we cannot provide service to our visitors that would be at par with any 5 tar hotel in the country. I would request the management and the owners to visit JW Marriot in Aerocity, New Delhi, to see what good customer service means and how guests are treated in a dignified manner. The only person who was extremely helpful and very courteous at this place was Mr. Zaffar

Great setting and palatial buildings. Good rooms and showers. Its too big and lacks personality. Staff especially in reception need training for customer service. Expected lot more for the price.

This place has a Breath taking view specially in winters. The feel is amazing and certainly the best in Kashmir. The services are premium and very very professional team. A must place for tourists travelling to Gulmarg.
