Peaceful place. Hosts are super kind! Crystal clean and hygiene. Sometimes you might not find a cab immediately from here, so you have to take a quick walk downhill. All the amenities like hot water, room heater, working kitchen etc are there. Highly recommended!
The guest room, hosted by Tarun and Angela was a nice cozy spot at Moti Nagar in Shillong. Their home was well maintained and clean. At first we had issues with the heater and geyser but then after speaking to the host, it was fixed. We also had amazing wholesome breakfast which is provided in the morning everyday at 8. There is provision of hot water and tea/coffee and also the utensils to cook up a ready to eat meal.
Its so peaceful,delight and homely and you can prepare our own food. There was tasty breakfast evrymorning. Angela Mam is an awesome host.I shall always stay here when I visit. The only con being you are lil away from Police bazaar.

I stayed in 3 different accomodations in Meghalaya and this was the most comfortable and the best one. The room was clean. There are many hotels in Police Bazar but the area is not at all peaceful. This homestay is a few minutes away from the market area so it is very peaceful. I highly recommend you to stay here. The homestay will give you a very homely feeling. The owner is a very kind and helpful woman. She suggested us beautiful places to visit.Thank you for such a beautiful experience.
I seldom write reviews but this experience deserves one. About Angela and Tarun, they are a family of five. Extremely polite and well read family. Their children are fun to be around with and they give you such a fun time. 'Abia' the daughter is a delight to listen too and the twins, kitang and mayanak are a jolly bunch who played catch and ball games with me. About the place, extremely cosy and well decorated room. It's got a small hallway with a attached kitchen. The bedroom has a nice and sturdy bed with comfortable linen. They have a heater, side lamp, induction stove, a set of vessels, ,a kettle and a small sofa cum bed. Its pretty comfortable and we loved it. About domestic help, they have cook named Sushma and Kong Deng. They understand and speak little English but compensate for the same with a big heart. Sushma cooked lunch and dinner for us. You can talk to Angela and your food arrangements can be accomadated. About the breakfast, Tarun made us excellent and hearty breakfast. Pizza, pancakes, eggs sunny side up with sausages and toast. We were also provided with milk, corn flakes and a fruit. My final thoughts, my stay of 14 days not only left me with great memories but I also think I found myself a new family. The best part of 'guest room' is that you never feel like a guest.
The stay is located near laitumkhrah area which is the city centre of Shillong. Best place to have if you want have some quiet time with yourself. Hosts of the stay are interesting and wonderful people..
