The Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital - General hospital in Port Blair - South Andamans, India

Its a worst hospital in the island. Its a government Hospital which means you don't need to pay anything but sometimes people lose their lives here for wrong treatments and carelessness of the staffs and doctors. Not all doctors are careless but few are. 1. They dont even examine the patient properly and declare they have a very serious problem and prescribes them medicines. 2. In few cases they just see the patients age and write whatever nonsense they want to and says everything is ok. 3. Lot of poor poeple as well as well settles people came here in hope to get a free medical treatment but they have to wait and wait until it gets worst. 4. Nurses and Headnurses are so arrogant and behaves like they are the doctors and owners of the hoapistal. 5. They don't referred patients until it get soo worst even if they know it might be very dangerous for the patient. 6. Lot of machines are available in the hospital but most of the staff don't know how to operate them. 7. Lot of families have lost their loved ones here because of the carelessness of the hopistal staff and doctors. 8. Really worried about the students studying there. Hope God will help them.

It is the biggest hospital in the island but the hospital is very poor and bad services provided to all patent and the staff like sweeper and attender are haresh to the patent

Free of cost treatment that'why it's always overcrowded. You have to wait in long queues and face discrimination. Mostly all types of treatment are available here, some staff are very good but rest are a bit rude and incompetent. If you tolerate above mentioned points you are good to go.

Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital is the Main government Hospital which provides primary and secondary care at Port Blair for the patients of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It has almost all general specialities and also serves as a referral hospital for the entire A & N Islands. One have to register first through Aadhar card, mobile no then consult to the referred department.In the screen near to the registration counter one can find total registered paitents. In some department like Ortho where you have to register there also so one must confirm there. Tredious procedure and it take lot of time as many close relative of doctors, staff and high profile visit there without any token number. Everything is free from consultation to Medicine if available otherwise you have to buy it from outside. In serious case they will take you the Chennai government hospital.

Worst staff. They don't have manners to talk with public and patients. I admitted my wife here, staff are just rude and careless. They can't even able to do simple stitching. It is 3rd time today same stitching in last 1 week. They don't care even patient is struggling with pain they will do there experiments on patients. I told them patient have high fever and they took 7 hours to give medicine. When I ask reason for delay, again rude answer, we know what to do. Hospital is great and previous staff also great but recently many new doctors joined,they are killing people.

Better than other Govt. hospitals in India but the staff discriminate the patients as the people standing in the queues are ignored and the person who comes through refrence of people who work there are given first priority. Otherwise everything is fine and some times the behaviour of staff is not good.

Biggest Govt hospital of Andaman and Nicobar Island. But some of the nurses & doctors are incompetent. Child Delivery section though doesn't have very gud reputation coz it met some unnatural death of pregnant ladies during C-Section. Rest everything is cost free for people. That is amazing coz u have to pay lakhs of rupee in private hospitals.

Worst staff and the hospital in Andaman and Nicobar, when I asked for paracetamol for fever they didn't provided and they asked for prescription at 1 pm in night. And when I said that that's not what happen in mainland India they said they are not part of India. And they said we run a different rule here. I felt after visiting the government hospital here is that people don't consider part themselves part of India until unless Tsunami knocks there door. If this is the mentality of some people in Andaman then such people should be left to die.
