The French Villa - Guest house in Francaise, Puducherry - Pondicherry, India

In the name of a Heritage Hotel, The French Villa is looting people of their money and a good experience in this location. I booked two rooms for 21st October for me and my friends. Both the rooms had several problems. 1. Rooms were not at all clean. The paintings on the wall and the room corners had MOULD all over it. Ac was not working. 2. Bed was broken and there were ants and insects all over it. 3. We spent just one night there, we requested for customer service or even asked to talk to their manager but no one responded to our calls. 4. Next day, while checking out, the hotel manager had the audacity to say that he has been managing 2 more hotels in Pondicherry. This hotel is more of a Heritage Hotel. 5. We spent 8k+ for two rooms and it's not even we went for a cheaper stay. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR HEALTH. In my personal opinion, if you don't have the resources or time to maintain your hotels' basic amenities, you shouldn't be in this business. Heritage hotels are great if only you don't call your lack of knowledge about maintaining one.

Over 80 Years old Heritage hotel with new portion added to it to facilitate modern demands for us, I was Travelling with my mom and dad and we were given room on the 3rd floor though they don't have elevator facility yet in the property the stairs were walk friendly and the owner said they are planning on adding another portion to the property with elevator facility, it will amazing if the plans happens and regarding our stay we had a most peaceful stay ever in Pondicherry , from waking up to the nightingales songs to mild party sounds on the weekend eve. I will for sure return back to the french villa after my marriage for our honeymoon,

The host is not at all responsive and no proper guidance. Unsatisfactory experience, I have booked room on 13th Sept and also got my confirmation mail. While during the check-in on 16th Sept around 4PM, the host told that room have been cancelled and he showed me a room at 4th Floor which is not good at all without lift. I have already informed the host over the call but he haven't assisted my on the arrangement. He pushed me to pay the advance which I did through Gpay and I asked to refund back since I not satisfied with the room. They are not bothering about the amount which I paid and not answering to my calls as well.

Worse, Actually we missed double check on check in timings and we went early morning and we sat like anything when we asked the Manager he was very rude and we asked him can you atleast tell us is any rooms you are aware we can go over there he said search on Agoda very arrogantly and when we back around 12 clock he provided us the room and that is not at all good, No wardrobe and only one blanket given no soap provided uff and my husband told i will ask the manager for blankets but the way he behaved earlier i said dont want, And dont be so arrogant with visitors please be polite and if you dont no tell that we really dont no, no need of arrogance answers And we dint come over there without paying you we have paid remember that. and we asked him could you please tell us the good places around to visit he dint tell that also oh god whats wrong why such an attitude be nice to people its a humble request we went to enjoy our vacation not to get upset really very horrible experience for me and my husband.

The rooms are of very old & things are very old !! U will find better stays in & around white town for same price !! There was a whole day power outage in the property during our stay & after reaching about many times generator wasn't available & couldn't stay inside due to weather conditions!! A good thing is the person in reception is helped us about pondy whereabouts & lil extension !!

Staff were very rude and not friendly at all. The person incharge came knocking on the door at 00:00hrs in the night and demanded us to pay the room rent. Would never recommend such a place to any travellers.

Very good place to stay. The staffs are very humble and well mannered. Alex is particular is so nice and flexible. Plus very helpful.

It was really amazing to stay in French villa.. a very memorable time spent in pondicherry. The staff jr. Alex @ Sr. Alex were very friendly and humble. The hotel is at a very prime location and a very peaceful and homely environment. A budget friendly hotel in the town.
