Amazing palace to visit. It dates to very ancient times. It is up on hills. One has to climb several steps to reach here. Oxygen level is low in leh, so some people may find it difficult to climb. It has amazing picturesque. Temple is very quiet and have positive vibes.
Beautiful old palace with wide and grand views from the top in all directions. There's a temple at the top with a huge statue of Buddha and beautiful wall paintings all around. It can get crowded here because it is close to Leh city, so try to visit before 10 am when the bulk tourists arrive.

The Shey Monastery or Gompa and the Shey Palace complex are structures located on a hillock in Shey, 15 kilometres to the south of Leh in Ladakh on the Leh-Manali road. Shey was the summer capital of Ladakh in the past. It contains a huge Shakyamuni Buddha statue. It is the second largest Buddha statue in Ladakh. The view from atop of the hillock is amazing.
Simply loved it. Very supportive staff...has beautiful restaurant with very tasty and authentic food....very close to city shopping centre... barely 5 min walk from hotel to Mall road....Clean and tidy with all the necessary facilities. They have maintained garden in their backyard with multiple flower plants along with garden farming includes potato, tomato, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Mustard, Kashmir Saag to mention few....Highly recommended. Awesome experience!
Shey palace location is just amazing. The view from the top is mesmerizing. I've visited this place in the month of April and the snow started melting so you can really see a nice Lake view with mountains nearby. A must visit on everybody's list whoever enjoys scenic beauty.
Shey Palace is really worth visiting. You will not find much there but Statue of Lord Buddha in temple is very beautiful and you will feel alive.
