The Checkers Hotel - Hotel in Chennai - Chennai, India

Room smelled like cigarettes and lights were flashing at all time. Bathroom was so dirty and full of bugs. We had a vomit near experience in this hotel. We stayed July 2019

Living duration: 14 days(Business) I lived here for a longer duration as this was the one which was nearby to my office location Hotel management, staff are really friendly and good. This place is easily recognizable and 100m from Little Mount metro station. I booked this hotel directly by calling the reception and was given a good deal(~3000 per night with breakfast and dinner complimentary) The food was excellent. You have good varieties each time. There are two staff one in each shift who looks after providing food. One person who was a bit short and had bald head(Apologies, don't remember his name) was really good in treating the guest. The other person was not good enough in treating people. He treats us as he is providing free food when we ask for some phulka/roti etc. He simply used to say that it's not covered in buffet (although it's clearly printed in the buffet menu) If we keep this part aside, the rooms are very spacious. However the beds are old, smell bad(even pillows) and the floor is completely carpeted. Not sure when they would clean the floor but I have never seen them cleaning during my 14 day stay. Washrooms were not so good. The room which I stayed had a problem of water flush in wash basin. I literally complained for 5 times and the problem persisted (had only temporary resolution). They haven't even changed my room. I was really tired of asking them again. The worst thing ever is they provide SEAWATER(almost green in color) for use in washrooms. We will literally be blank when you brush and take bath. Overall: You will enjoy food but not the stay in rooms.

Booth bungalow. Flickering/ no lights. Most of the floors are vacant or under renovation condition. Just not sure if they have brought down the place for renovation or renovating because the place came down itself. 2 cockroaches took bath along with me. No hot water. The floor had moses/sludge at the bottom corners. The bed sheet was ripped at the sides. AC was too loud. Checked out in 3 hours after freshening in the morning. Had some work in the day time and had to catch a train in the night. Thought it would be better to wait at the station instead of coming back here

KK write; Had booked 3 day stay at the hotel. But checked out the very next day. The hotel was announcing 4 star rating. But not even to 2 star. Faulty switch sockets. No water heater. Not tidy room. Smelly blanket. All the doors have a peep hole. Never recommend for families.

The checkers Hotel Is very famous for its Gaigantic look and appearance. They have more customers due to their customer service and customer satisfaction. The rooms here is very nice and clean. They provide Good Atmosphere to all families who stay here .They have a very good restaurant at the ground floor and the food here is very tasty and spicy .All types of food varieties are available here .They have a Good air conditioning Hall for marriage, Receptions and meetings. They have very spacious car parking and two wheeler parking. It is easily visible from a high traffic area.

Very unhygienic hotel. Property is full of dampness. Beds full of bed bugs and cocrockes. Plz do not book it. They are renovating the property every thing is full of dust. No restaurant to eat. There is no lobby furniture to sit. Totally messed up Hotel ever seen in my life. The Photo posted in MMT / Google is just a gimmick / eye wash.

Really an average experience! Being at heart of the city, I had huge expectations. But sadly they didn't meet my expectations. I've been there for my relative's function. Food quality is very average (tasted only veg options). Party hall is decent enough for 120+ gathering. Rooms are good. Parking place is pretty bad, no valet parking! You have to walk back some distance after parking your car. To conclude - Lot more to improve.

The worst hotel ever that I have stayed in. There is a weird smell in the rooms. The water is very dirty and is yellowish in colour. The food is also not nice. The staff is really slow and are very arrogant. The building was under construction so there was a lot of noise as well. Even though there was almost no one staying at the hotel still they were not willing to accommodate us in the same floor. Lastly I would not recommend one to stay here and there are a lot of mosquitoes as well so one always has a chance to get sick
