Tea Tales Cafe - Cafe in Munnar - Idukki, India

I visited Tea Tale Cafe with high hopes, given its high Google review rating. However, I was left with total disappointment. I ordered the chick pop, veg club sandwich, and chicken club sandwich. The chick pop was made from an instant package and had no taste. The veg club sandwich was okay, but the chicken club sandwich was a disaster. The chicken was ground into a paste and put between three layers of bread. It was clear that the cafe didn't know how to prepare a good club sandwich. The prices at Tea Tale Cafe are too high for the quality and quantity of food served. I would strongly suggest entering at your own risk

For a place with so much tourist inflow, It's surprising that munnar doesn't have any good cafe's . This was one of the best rated cafe's available around munnar town. 1. Located on first floor of a roadside building in town itself, there's no parking space and u need to walk atleast half a km after parking to reach the place. Stairs in building is narrow and dingy. 2. Cafe is well seperated from outside world. Ambience with lights and designed interior gives out good vibes . 3. There's no toilet facilities or Wi-Fi ( strange for a cafe ) 4. Ordered French fries, chicken grill sandwich, chicken nuggets and brownie. Sandwich was too salty . Consistency was good and was made with less Mayo as we suggested. FF and Nuggets had nothing special about it. Brownie was the best of the lot. 5. Not much vegetarian options available. 6. A bit overpriced for a small cafe without much amneties. Overall, one of the good , among few options available in munnar town for a quick snack and drinks. Step in without much expectations seeing the reviews..

Strangely, given the name of the establishment, we had to ask if they sold tea as there was none on the menu. The white tea came with no milk, but we accepted the miscommunication given it was white (pale anyway) leaved and tasted very fresh and cleansing. One small pot was shared between the two of us which at 240 rupees we felt was very steep, no pun intended.

I order one cappuccino and one chocolate cake both was so good i highly recommend it

Munnar city centre really has just a handful of places that, according to Google reviews, promise a chill ambience plus interesting food and beverage options. We found ourselves at Tea Tales Cafe, at 13h50 on a Saturday, hoping for a quick bite and a beverage, relying on these Google reviews. Unfortunately, no place on our trip to Kerala disappointed us more than Tea Tales Cafe! Ambience: After you climb a flight of narrow, dingy stairs, you walk past stores on the first floor, and arrive at the cafe. While the exterior is literally overlooking a hullabaloo of street noises and pollution, the interior is out of a Pinterest board, making it an instagrammable place in appearance. Facilities: There is a hand washing area. No toilet. No wifi. Food and beverages: we were first given a printed menu followed by a chalkboard with handwritten specials for the day. The lady taking order was then quick to point out that only frozen-fried food and mostly fish and meat were available. There was no fresh veg food or non-frozen anything available. When asked about sandwich options, she asked a man, who one could only guess was the cook? and he mumbled sometjing about toast sandwich being an option. Disappointed at the lack of options in food, we thought we'd try an iced/cold tea, so we ordered butterfly /blue pea tea. Evidence of what we were served is in the photos. Tap water temperature tea pot with 1/2 tsp of butterfly pea tea in the strainer and white bread, mayonnaise filled sandwich. We waited for the tea to change color to its beautiful blue but clearly whoever made it had never heard of steeping tea in hot water and refrigerating it to then serve it as cold tea. We informed the lady about how what was served didn't qualify as either hot tea or cold tea and explained how it is supposed to be served. Not sure if anything was understood, but we made sure it's clear that we hadn't touched the tea pot and weren't going to pay for it. By this time, we had no energy left to bother with service or food. We just wanted to pay for what tried to be a sandwich and get out of there to go to a place with actual edible food and drinkable beverages. Bottomline, may be we got unlucky or may be we experienced the reality and most 5 star reviews are by their friends or paid for; one will never know.

Super taste Coffee - had a Latte and it tastes like authentic CCD style. Chicken Sandwich - A must try food, it has different ingredients than the usual sandwich and the chicken inside is next level. A big thumbs up for the sandwich maker, really appreciate the taste.

Bought 2 Oreo Nutellas, 1 Hot Chocolate, 1 grilled Chicken Sandwich. The prices are a bit expensive but the ambience is really nice and considering it's in such a popular hill station it's understandable. Finding this place was quite the challenge and if not for Maps it wouldn't have been possible. Also, the sandwich was horrible and was like some mayo spread on some bread. However, the drinks were really good and I actually felt like it was worth the price and that's why it's deserving of the 4 stars. Really happy I found a good milkshake place here
