The building needs some maintenance along with the surroundings. The rooms are ok, but lots of damp on the roof, giving it a shabby look. Otherwise it's a nice quaint place. Parking is available if you are self driving. Food is cooked in the main building at Morgan house.
Rooms were spacious enough for 2 people sharing. Only the door locks don't work properly and every time you open or close the main or bathroom door it shuts down with huge force and loudly. You need to close the window and doors from the balcony in the evening as insects will fly inside.
Service is really good. They try their best to help you. The television was not working for no recharge. After 1 day, they recharged it.
We stayed for 3 nights, and in 2 nights there was load shedding, though they have generators, but it needs time to connect and when current comes it needs another minute to reconnect.
Foods are really good. A bit much costlier, but they serve a good amount which would be enough for 2.
This place is quite far from market. We visited the markets nearby by local transports, which are easily available for 20/- per person. And also you will get a reserved car from the hotel itself.
Good for families specially with elder person with good walks and greenery around you.
They don't manage the rooms. Rooms are dampy and smelly.
Even many people smoke in the room and unfortunately when you get that room next day, it's horrible to stay due to smell of ciggrette.
This is a very old building which dates back to the British colonial era. It is a wooden structure with very big and spacious rooms with a big washroom, but in dire need of maintenance. We stayed in room 10 which has attached balcony and it provides a mesmerising view
Very good heritage property with excellent scenic beauty. The snow clad mountain veiw is visible from the hotel room and balcony. I would love to visit again.
We went with our parents and in laws. Very poor maintenance. Only one staff is there to provide services. Sometimes sweeper also helps to serve food on tables. Washrooms are too much dirty. We felt very worst experience.Price of foods are very high comparing quantities. Quantity of complementary breakfast is too poor.
A WBTDL property. An old building, carrying heritage legacy. Adjacent to the famous Morgan House. Outside the busy area of Kalimpong. You can take a shared vehicle from Kalimpong Bus Stand to here (chandralok route). Staffs are very helpful.
Excellent experience. I stayed there in November `19. It was a memorable stay. The small but well designed old English bungalow is the main attraction. On entering the bungalow one can feel the old colonial era seeing the wooden stair, wooden lobby which has the resemblance with the bungalows of England. The ground at the back is another attraction. Mighty Himalayas can be seen from there. Ample chairs are kept over there. It is a comfortable place to drink a cup of coffee by sitting in the winter sun. The dining room is another attraction. Breakfast is complimentary and sufficient in quantity. Lunch and dinner menu is good. The preparation is also palatable. It is mentally a very soothing place to stay for one day or two as well as pocket friendly also.
