Talwalkars HiFi - Gym in Puducherry - Pondicherry, India

This place is not talwalkers gym, instead this Is a new gym called the fitness ladder. This gym is well equipped and maintained. They do have personal trainers as required for a fee.

Hidden away, look for the expensive watch shop (at street level) and head upstairs to the 3rd floor. Good facility for working out, good weights and cardio. Note its womens hours between 12-3pm so no guys aloud during these hours. Filtered water bottles everywhere for you to use. 300rup for a day if your not a memeber (like me who is backpacking india). The gym has aircon however they have it turned off or have it on a high setting that you basically melt while working out...however, its a good gym and cheap + good to get a burn on

I used to workout in this gym a while back .. was forced to cancel my subscription because of the totally unprofessional management headed by Vasanth . The management seems to be promoting one particular individual who gets his clients a membership in the gym . This particular individual then hogs up all the equipment in the gym and throws his weight around . When the management is told about this they come up with counter complaints against me. The owner should seriously consider getting a new management. There are plenty of other gyms in Pondy where customers aren't taken for a ride.

Everything is fine except that this gym is not associated with Talwalkar's brand anymore.

This is one of the good gyms in Pondicherry town. Good Ambience and quality equipment. But equipments are less and if you are a hardcore fitness freak, you may not like the gym. You have good gym trainers who can mentor you about proper forms and guide you to achieve your fitness goal. Locker facility available, changing room, stream bath, clean restroom, fully Air conditioned. Membership price is quite high but that's alright for the little facility you get in the Gym. And there is a parking problem which is quite common everywhere in Pondicherry. Bike would be great to commute in evening. If going for morning session you can manage parking for your car.

Newly built and well maintained gym right at the centre of white town. They have great equipment, with weights marked in pounds (which is a relief if you're from the states). And they have trainers available round the clock, included with the regular fee. The space though, is a little small for a gym, but you can find all basic equipments in there, no muscle left out. They also have changing rooms with showed and a sauna area available alternate day for each gender. Oh and they have someone circulate bottles of water to keep you hydrated as you sweat it out ! P.s. they offer no fuss monthly membership !

One star just to get attention and also to the users and the management. They blow up the air conditioning as low as 20 deg. The management, just like any other sophisticated gym in Pondy fails to understand that those who come are "clients" not "guests". Its a gym for god sake not a restaurant. And to the readers, 24-26 deg is the industry standard all over the world. It's not a place to socialise on couches, do your research about fitness, diet and workout on the internet before going to any gym. The gym is well placed out and they've used the space very intelligently, kudos to the planners. Worth mentioning is the fact that they keep the place clean and tidy, I thinks that elevates them above Maverick and Vairam. Also worth a try is Power House gym which is on the Kosakadai Street just diagonally opposite HiFi.

They have almost all the equipments and a sauna bath so it's good if you know what and how to exercise. Do not rely on the trainers. They can tell you how to use a machine but won't help you everyday with exercising.
