Visited after a gap of 4 years and the latest update, GOOD: ----------- * IDLY size was less Sambar was tastey and included 3 types of chutneys. * POORI was very crispy and aloo sagoo was very good BAD: ------- * CURD VADA contianed small vadas and tasted very blant without any taste. Better to ignore * MASALA DOSA was more of a big thin plain dosa with aloo palya. Don't expect masala dosa like how it's served in Bengaluru. Probably ghee version would be more closer. Prices are bit higher but some of the items are really good. Waiting times are higher and at times you get frustrated (cancelled tea after 15 mins of wait)

During a recent family gathering with around 25 people, we chose this hotel for its reputation as a leading vegetarian establishment in Pondicherry. However, our experience left us deeply disappointed, especially in terms of cleanliness. None of the plates were properly cleaned, with visible traces of the previous service's coconut chutney. Moreover, the culinary aspect fell short of expectations. The Gobi Manchurian was excessively salty, and the Mushroom Fried Rice was overly oily. The Green Peas Masala seemed to share its gravy with Paneer Butter Masala. The only saving grace was the Cream of Mushroom Soup. Despite the disappointing experience, I refrained from complaining, skeptical of any corrective action. It's puzzling how this hotel maintains a positive image. I would rate it zero stars for cleanliness. My strong recommendation would be to explore better dining options in Pondicherry that prioritize both taste and hygiene.

Worst respect for the customers. They installed some new AC system which directs towards 2 tables only. To cool their entire restaurant they will made us to suffer for 1 hr. Full 1 hr we were shivering and food gone cold within min they served. When we raised the issue, some of their staffs ganged up and treated us very cheaply. Customer comfort and satisfaction are not their prime moto. Very bad experience.

Main branch of the Surguru chain in Puducherry located in the basement of the hotel. Good food, excellent service and ambience with air conditioning . Masala dosa was delicious served with three types of chutney and thokku. Poori and Pongal were well prepared.

Rates are reasonable, food quality and quantity is good. Ambience is good. Quite spacious and clean. Time taken to serve food can be improved. Providing a lift to serve elderly people can be explored though a chair type lift is there.

It was a nice experience to dine here having lunch and tiffins. Lot if options of food is lovely. Same time food is tasty with native tinge. Staff are extremely good who understands our taste and serve better.

Surguru is a good restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. The food itself is very good and the dishes are well prepared. The menu is available all day. However, the food is very expensive so you will be willing to spend about Rs 300 per person at least. The restaurant is somewhat dimly lit but the staff is very professional and welcoming.
