Sundarban Tour Packages | Manna Da - Tour operator in Canning - 24 Paraganas South, India

A cost-effective tour package for Sunderbans. I opted for 2night 3 days for just Rs 4000/- per head,and later upgraded to a/c room by paying just Rs 2000 extra for 2 nights . Lodging at Pakhiralaya was good. Food was excellent and copious. Extremely well behaved and courteous staff. Tour manager Somnath Adhikary needs special mention; he will cater to all your needs. Mannada ( Shambhunath Manna, propeietor), and his son ( Mr Arup Manna) are very good and approachable themselves. They would try to make you as comfortable as possible. The launch I was in, MV Rajdoot, was reasonably okay, though it may be improved a bit ( see my suggestions below). Mannada owns 3 more launches. It may be noted that he is in this business for more than 20 years, and is highly rated amongst Sunderban tour operators ( you may see it on YouTube). I contacted his son, Mr Arup personally for the tour,which I think is best, rather than through travel agencies. Although the weather was extremely hot, humid and uncomfortable, it was the lean season,and bookings were available. I am satisfied with the overall experience. My humble suggestions for further improvement: 1) There should be at least 2 pedestal fans in each deck,particularly for those sitting at the back, in summer. 2) it should be mentioned that group booking doesn't mean booking of the entire launch itself, and no specific seat is allocated to a particular person or group; sitting should be by rotation, particularly the front bed, where view and wind are maximum. 3) Drinking should be strictly prohibited inside the launch; anybody found drinking will be dropped off at the next stop. 4) There should be a metal railing on the 3 flights of stairs leading down from the sitting deck; it's pretty dangerous. 5) There should be a basin with a tap on the sitting deck. 6) The commode flush needs replacement ( people should be instructed not to waste sanitation water which is in limited supply in the launch) But all said, I feel you won't get a better deal from any other private tour operator in Sunderbans, particularly at this price.

It's a fantastic and joyful journey. Arrangements and hospitality of travel company is very good.

We spent our two nights and three days program beautifully. We were touched by the behavior of all the members of the boat. With the touch of Radhuni's hand, this hilsa festival became more impressive.

Hospitality and guest taking care was very good. Food was very tasty and less spice. Travel members behavior are very nice and polite. All over sundarban trip was great.

Every thing is excellent but need few things for safety. 1. Foot Lader for climbing & dropping like foot step for stage used in any function as chair is unsafe. 2. Rain prevention as few boats already use side plastic. 3. Training for life jacket use during emergency & location where life jacket kept.

The tour altogether was a pleasing experience. We all have enjoyed the service, hospitality of Manna da,s staff. We all felt at home. The food quality and variety was awesome. Our heartiest thanx to Manna da to enable us in perpetuating this as golden memories.
