St. Lawrence's Church, Sinquerim - Featured Reviews (459)
Beautiful little Church atop the Sinquerim hill. Has a picturesque view. Just such a peaceful and calming feeling to be there.
As other reviews note, the views from this place are great - there's clear views of the bay and even the top of fort aguada.
However, I got a clear vibe they don't want visitors here- even if said visitors are respectful of the religious establishment.
For instance, threre was one quiet and one aggressive dog in the internal compound- perhaps to discourage a few tourists who may be too casual that this a church. It contributes to an overly quiet and a slight abandoned vibe here.
I'd give this place a miss overall.
Quaint beautiful church on the way to Aguada Fort, which is hardly visited. The church premises has an amazing panoramic view of Dona Paula, Panaji and Aguada fort. Do visit if time permits.
Most of them don't visit here, this place actually gives you a view of aguada fort. You can see the church from the aguada fort. But The view from the church is awesome in the evening. You can even see the jail in sinquerim, a greeny hill, sea and sunset it fill your heart for sure.
Very beautiful all white colored church on the way to Aguada fort. Lot of peace at this place. Also the view of the sea from here is very good.
Ever dreamt of a place where you are all alone and there is nobody else to disturb you or infiltrate your peace?
On a beautiful sunny day in April, I along with my wife were returning from the Aguada fort when out of curiosity I stopped my bike in front of this place. At the first moment I thought it was closed, but there is a bypass if you look close enough, there is small revolving iron gate that lets you in and makes you never wanna come out.
As we walked inside our road ahead was covered with yellow flower petals, but we were still on Earth, there was no other human soul to be seen or heard, yet we were on Earth.
We walked further to see who takes care of this place, we couldn't find anybody so we became our guide ourselves. We discovered the balconies that open towards the Coco beach , we read the inscriptions on the marble books and we sat there just to talk to ourselves. Indeed god himself was the keeper of that place as we could find nothing wrong here.
Visit this place if you wanna complete your something else hunger.
I go for mass here, it's my parish church. Visitors are allowed for mass on Sundays at 7:30am to 8:30am and week days at 7am to 8am. Although this is only for the purpose of mass. Photography and videography are not allowed .Tourist are politely recommend to maintain the sanctity and holiness of the place. If one wants to visit the church, one must take permission from the respective parish priest. Everyone is welcomed
Location, sunset, less visited church in Goa. The location is spectacular, most will miss this spot as everyone wants to visit fort Aguada. Must visit for sunset.
