From Thayar's sannidhi, one is supposed to go to Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple Tirupati which is at walk able distance from railway station. Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple Tirupati premise is very large. At the entrance of Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, there is a shrine for MudalAzhwars, Udayavar and various other deities. Opposite to this there is a shrine for Lord Krishna. This God here inside Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple Tirupati is the replica of Chidambaram divya desa Perumal. Thayar is Andal. Brahmotsavam is performed in Govindaraja Swamy Temple for 10 days in a year which doesn't clash with Brahmotsavam performed for other deities. If you look into the history of Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple of Tirupati, the legend goes back to the time of Islamic reign in South India. When the southern parts of India, witnessed Muslim invasion, to maintain its safety, statue of Lord Govindaraja Swamy, deity of Chidambaram was brought to Tirupati, which was later brought back once the situation returned to its normalcy. However, revered Saint Sri Ramanujacharya had a dream where Lord Govindaraja Swamy informed him about his wishes to reside in Tirupati. Owing to this when he visited the place he saw in his dream; he found the statue of Lord Govindaraja Swamy there. It was then, he advised the king to build a temple in the same place. This temple is only half a km away from Tirupati Railway station and at a distance of 1.5 km from Tirupati RTC Bus stand.

Awesome place. The murti of gods are too mesmerizing. We visited the temple in evening so the light enhances the beauty of temple. Must visit place. You will feel blessed. Too many shops are their for kids ladies much more.

One of the Beautiful temples in India. Lord Sri Govinda Raja Swamy brother of Lord Venkateshwara. There are many temples inside. You can also buy tickets for special Darshan and other sevas. You need atleast 30 minutes to see the complete temple. This temple is very peaceful and there is a seating area inside the temple. Many sevas and utsavas are performed during special occasions. There are so many stores outside the temple where you can buy God photos, copper items, silver items and many other special items. And this place is very close to Tirupati Railway station.

Recommended to take 20/- ticket that is available beside the free chappal and mobile lockers. Else the wait time will be more. There are tiffin centres nearby, you can reach this temple from tirupati railway station by taking an auto. No ola, uber available atleast for me.

This temple is very peaceful They offer storage for luggage, mobile phones & footwears too (free of cost), I enjoyed every time to visit this temple, we can go through ticket(less queue).

Govindaraja Temple was consecrated in the year 1130 AD by saint Ramanuja. However, there are structures inside the temple complex which belong to 9th and 10th centuries. Before Govindaraja was consecrated as the presiding deity, another form of Vishnu - Parthasarathy enjoyed that honour. Kotturu, a village at the foot of Tirumala hills, was moved to the vicinity of Govindaraja Temple which was later merged into city of Tirupati.

Very nice temple of Lord govindaraja swamy and very nice place for shopping where can available of many things. Here timings are different Temple will be closed early .
