Bolla Kali Mandir is a famous Kali Mandir in South Dinajpur district of West Bengal. Bolla village is located 20 km from Balurghat town on Balurghat-Malda highway. 400 years ago Vallabh Chowdhury was the zamindar of the area. The area is named Bolla according to his name. At that time, a woman picked up a black stone in a dream and started worshiping it as the first mother. Then Zamindar Murari Mohan Chowdhury got involved in a case with the East India Company. He then swore to his mother and won the case. Goddess Kali came to her rescue and the landlord was released the next day. As a symbol of gratitude, he built a temple of Goddess Kali. From that year, the puja started on Friday after Ras Purnima. Bolla Kali Puja is held in South Dinajpur district after Ras Purnima. Many visitors from different states including West Bengal and even Bangladesh participate in this puja. Along with that, a big fair is also held for four days. Bolla Mela is the second largest fair in North Bengal. Although this fair is centered around the puja of Maa Kali, it is attended by Hindus as well as Muslims and people from other communities. More than 1 million people attend this four-day fair. Pilgrims from Delhi, Mumbai and even abroad throng the temple to offer puja. More than 6000 goats are sacrificed every Puja night. On the other hand, about a hundred small and big manat Kali Puja is performed in the mandap square.

Tight security, including police patrols, ensures a safe celebration around the temple adorned with two and a half tons of gold ramada and precious ornaments.
