Shri Panch Pandav Caves. Pachmarhi - Tourist attraction in Pachmarhi, Pachmarhi Cantt - Hoshangabad, India

Overall a good sightseeing and experience near to hotels and market place. Views are amazing once you reach at the top. Stairs are bit risky make sure to wear good grip footwears outside there is well maintained garden with huge cactus plants and out side the gate you can find scooter and motor rides, ATV rides, Tea, cold drinks and snacks stall. There is no entry fees and you can also find local guides in case you need guidance to learn about its importance and history. It's open all 7 days. Make sure to visit before sunset to enjoy the best sunset view.

The place is nice. You have to climb upwards. There are natural stairs and some man made stairs to to go upwards. But better be careful while climbing up as some stairs do not have the shape of stepping onto it. They are slippery. If going in monsoon, try to wear good rigid gripping shoes. As for the Caves, they are now locked & will be locked for tourists as previously people had made scribblings designs and what not to the historical monument. After that, the caves has been completely closed for tourists. You can only go and see caves from outside and take pictures. The view from above is excellent. The cool breeze of air is constantly coming from all directions to make you feel so light. Spend at half n hour up there as you'll have plenty of things n views to cherish. Good view, good air. The

Recently I visited Pachmarhi, situated in MP. Very famous hill station of MP. Panch Pandav caves is one of the famous places surrounding with wild forest land. Well the experience was awesome, especially the weather. Overall it was a good experience to visit at this place.

Attractive place with a beautiful well laid garden at the entrance. Caves were locked for reasons not known, but you can peep in. The stairs and pathway are very steep, and should be avoided by elderly people.

Pachmarhi is a hill station in the Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh state of central India. It has been the location of a cantonment since British Raj. It is widely known as Satpura ki Rani, situated at the height of 1067 m in a valley of the Satpura Range in the Narmadapuram district. Dhupgarh, the highest point in Madhya Pradesh and the Satpura range, is located here. It is a part of the Satpura Biosphere Reserve. The Pandav Caves were cut into a low hill. Buddhist monks created the caves anytime from the first century AD to the 10th century AD. The caves were roughly carved, but attractive. Since the climb up and down are strenuous these falls aren't on everyone's itenary....So all the more reason to go here for those who are fit and seek adventure and some one on one time with nature. You can enjoy fresh mangoes while going to this place. These falls are clean and the water is super cold! A little beyond this fall are the AC falls which are accessible but with the help of a guide only. This place isn't adviced for unfit or elderly folks but if u are young and have kids you must go...It is tiring but totally worth it! We bravely entered a cave only to come out holding our breath due to bat poop. The caves had paintings in them in ancient times. These haven't gotten preserved. While the caves have a Buddisht origin, they have been named after the Pandavas from the Mahabharata. Draupadi Cave was the most spacious & best ventilated one. From the top of the hill, we could see all of Pachmarhi. A wonderful garden has been developed at the base of the hill. Flora attracted our attention. Madhya Pradesh Tourism organizes Pachmarhi Utsav every year in December.

Heritage place to visit at Panchmahri. Nice place where it is said that pandvas were stayed in this caves while their agyat vas.

Hill top caves in Pachmarhi supposed to be built by Pandav brothers during their vanwas period. Nice place in Pachmarhi town to spend some time. Though the steps are bit high, but the climb is manageable and worth giving a try. Gives a panoramic view from the top. Nice garden at the foot hill.

I visited there with my office colleagues during our training programme. It was a very humid day and along with the heavy rain in no time. But it was amazing feeling with the friends. Some history about the Panch Pandav Caves ... The Pandava Caves are a group of five caves in a small hillock in Pachmarhi. It is believed that the Pandavas during their period of exile took shelter in these caves. The caves are small in size. The one which is comparatively bigger with enough air circulation is called Draupathi Kuti or Cave. The most congested and dark cave is called Bhima Kothari or Cave.
