Shri Murdeshwara Beach - Beach in Murdeshwar - Uttara Kannada, India

Excellent tourist spot for both pilgrimage and leisure vacation. The mighty Shiva statue and Asia's tallest tower (Gopura) made the place a great vibe. Recommend to stay in RNS Residency or RNS Guest house which is almost on the sea cliff and very good scenic beach view on top. We used to visit this place quite often with family and friends. Avoid going from June to August. Due to monsoon you are not allowed to enter the beach.

Murudeshwar is famous for its statue of Lord Shiva. The town is located on the coast of the Arabian Sea and is also famous for its Shiva temple. A huge statue of Lord Shiva is visible from a long distance in the temple complex. It is the third tallest Shiva statue in the world. This place is always crowded.

Temple timings - 6am - 1pm & 3pm - 8.15pm. So plan accordingly. Constructed by RNS group. Temple & beach go hand in hand. The main temple gopuram can be reached to the top by lift costing Rs20/person. Waiting period is about 30mins -45mins (at 5pm on a weekend)The view from the temple's 18th floor is worth waiting for. The only biggest complaint is the littering around. The temple premises & everywhere on the beach is waste articles ranging from plastic to cloth. Tourist need to pay attention to their own waste before littering it around.

Statue and temple are so good. Can be seen both the places in max of 3 hours. After that u can enjoy in the beach, lot of activities are available in beach.

This beach is situated in front of the murudeshwar temple. Beach water is not that much clean. We can have a great view of murudeshwar temple from here. In the evening this place is heaven. So many shops for eateries. An ample amount of parking space is available here. Frankly speaking people will enjoy it more at this beach rather than any of the Gokarana beaches. We can buy shorts and other beach clothes at a cheap rate also from here. Enjoy the view of the temple from here. Parking is free here. Lots of ice cream shops are also here. So go there and enjoy the day.

It's has famous shiv murti and nice beach site. But avoid going in off season as it is closed for activities. Food is easily available at cheaper rates. And rooms are also cheaper for around Rs600 per night. Temple has paid parking
