It is kept up nicely and is clean. Four doors are provided for people's convenience and to aid in crowd control. There are numerous restaurants near the temple, especially those that specialise in apes. The location exudes a powerful vibe. Beautiful architect, amazing design...Despite being in the midst of the city, parking is available even though it becomes packed. The temple is still kept up to date by its workers.

The temple is beautiful and exudes a peaceful and calm atmosphere. It's centrally located and radiates positive vibes. However parking can be an issue. Street parking is available nearby and there is a municipal parking lot, but it can be somewhat hard to find. The municipal parking charges 30 rs for cars. Toilet facilities are also available. It's about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot to the temple. Be cautious of locals who may try to charge 50rs for parking closer to the temple, as the municipal parking is a more cost-effective and trustable option.

People usually warn visiting on tuesday and friday due to the crowd. I visited the temple on friday during karthik maas. E pass system is removed as pandemic cases became low. There are 4 doors but the east door will be open for goddess darshan by goin inside temple. There will be security checking and queue separation is done based on male females and both lines move almost together and beware of people just breaking the line and joining anywhere in front. I joined the queue at 5:25 PM, you will see a tirupati balaji idol and sakshi ganapati idol. Many people sell pooja items, announcements will be made in mic which is only in marathi and difficult for people who do not know marathi. As you enter for darshan into the sanctum sees mata mahalakshmi, mahakaali, and saraswati, take some time to pray and be blessed. You see shri yantra carved on stone. So finally our darshan was done at 8:30. So it took 2 and half hours for darshan. Several sevas are available and tickets should be taken and be available at that time. Parking is a problem with no directions if you enter with any door you want. Need more maintenance with guidance in english for outsiders. Washrooms, drinking water and locker facility available. Please like my review if it was helpful and ask anything you want to know.

Go in the evening it will be too good. The temple belongs architecturally to the Chalukya empire and was first built in the 7th century.[5] The temple is referred to in multiple Puranas. There is evidence to show that the Konkan king Kamadeo, Chalukyas, Shilahara, Yadavas of Devagiri dynasties visited this city. Adi Shankaracharya also visited. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj ruled this area and they also visited the temple regularly. The temple of the goddess Mahalakshmi was built by Karnadeva in 634 CE Chalukya reign.[2] Mounted on a stone platform, the murti of the crowned goddess is made of gemstone and weighs about 40 kilograms. The image of Mahalakshmi carved in black stone is 3 feet in height. The Shri Yantra is carved on one of the walls in the temple. A stone lion (the vahana of the goddess), stands behind the statue. The crown contains a five headed snake. Further, she holds a Matulinga fruit, mace, shield and a panapatra (drinking bowl). In Lakshmi Sahasranama of Skanda Purana, Goddess Lakshmi is praised as "Om Karaveera Nivasiniye Namaha" means "Glory to the Goddess who lives in Karaveera" and as "Om Sesha Vasuki Samsevyaa Namaha" means "Glory to Goddess who is served by Adi Sesha and Vasuki". They are the 119th and 698th names of Lakshmi in Lakshmi Sahasranama. This is also the description mentioned in the Rahasya of Devi Mahatmya.[3] Professor Prabhakar Malshe says, "The name of Karaveera is still locally used to denote the city of Kolhapur".[4] Unlike most Hindu sacred images, which face north or east, the deity faces west (Pashchim

This is one of the famous temples to visit in Kolhapur. We visited during the weekend and there was a queue for darshan, however the queue was moving and it was well managed by the authorities. The temple is surrounded by a market where you can go shopping and have some food as well. You can travel to the temple by city bus as well which is cheaper. Backpacks are not allowed inside the temple, and there is a free locker room available to keep the same.

Amba Bai cha udo udo... Om shri mahalaxmi namo namah... Best place to gain positive energy. Neat and clean. There is a very well arrangement to follow que and take darshan. You should plan to visit early morning from 6-8 am it's best time to get in with less crowd.
