Shri Kolaramma Devi Temple - Featured Reviews (4442)
Goddess Parvathi is worshipped as Kolaramma by the people of Kolar. Another deity of this temple is Chelamma(Scorpion goddess). People believe that by praying at the Chelamma shrine a person will be guarded from scorpion bites by the deity. Outside of the temple mantapa RajendraChola-I carved stone is there and also kannada inscriptions there. Temple is clean and well maintained.

This is where I reached first and I was told that I should visit Someshwara temple first and be back here - which I followed without any fuss!! Compared to Someshwara temple this is a bit smaller. But this place is well maintained too. You can walk around the place and sit and relax in many options that it provides you. There is a water cooler for drinking water - it was a boon on this hot summer afternoon!! It is a historic place and is well explained in the plaque at the entrance. Please relax and spend some time at both these temples - a must place for sure
Positive vibes! The temple complex is peaceful. You will feel the energy as you enter inside. It's an ancient temple that is still functional and well-maintained. There are real scorpions kept beneath the foot of The Devi. You get lemons as prasad here and you get to see 'darshan' in the mirror. This is the same temple discussed on The Ranveer Show. There are few more temples in the surrounding area so make sure you pay a visit there too. Ample car park is available.

The Kolaramma temple is thousand years old and built by the Cholas in the South Indian style. Goddess Parvathi is worshipped as Kolaramma by the people of Kolar.
Very peaceful place. No hastle and no money minded pujaris. A divine chanting of Devi Chamundeshwari is constantly playing. Neat and clean very well maintained. Its history and stories about the deities are also very interesting and the walls have beautiful carvings. One of the best experiences in temples I ever had
