I have been to Shivganga House boat in feb 18. They are completely safe for family trip. If you are concerning about safety I am sure its completely safe the workers in houseboats are friendly. Food in houseboats are heaven.
Good place for a break during a long house boat drive. In this place you will get options for having good food and people will get opportunity to buy fresh fishes from the river. Cost is not expensive. Food will be little spicy but it's too good.
Awesome trip must visit... Food was also great there will be cook inside the boat and a sailor... safe place for couples... One day night stay in the boat was nice where you can enjoy the nature a lot...
Staffs are polite and helpful. Room is neat. Food is ok. Lunch - meals with fish fry. Dinner - Chappathi with chicken or dal. Breakfast - Idly. Tea n coffee in evening with kozhukattai. Its a round trip around the lake. Worth every penny if staying for a single day n night. Else it might get bored. Fish can be bought from shop for your dinner. Please check your boarding boat jetty with them rather than by searching shivaganga in google map.

We took a 5 bed boat house for one day trip. Service was excellent and food was tasty. We had a wonderful time. Only one issue is that the boat was very old one and not so clean.
Wonderful experience, great food especially the crab curry and prawn fry. Boat facility is also great. The only boat with ac in the common area.
Budget friendly but ac only starts after 9 PM & u charge ur accessories after reaching the kumarakom.

We absolutely loved our experience. We booked a 1 bedroom houseboat with A/C in the bedrooms. It was spacious and clean and the bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with an English toilet (no toilet paper only a water jet so take that if you need it!).
