This is Pune's very first weather forecast head building. The building is grand made-up of stone blocks. It has a central clock tower with working time. The structure is one of the very first clock towers as well. It looks very beautiful and the architecture is very strong. The landscaping around is also designed well. Entry is restricted for visitors and may require permission. Campus is also designed well. Inside the main building, one can find all the historical equipments that are used in climatology and are exhibited there. There is also a very old elevator lift inside which is believed to be still in use.
The monumental building on 10 acres of campus was a delight to all the #urbansketchersPune ! Built in 1926-27 the construction with basalt & semi Gothic style is a gem in colonial structures. Had an awesome time in the verdant green environs, even in this summer heat. Also this Shimla office is a landmark and I had seen it in passing but never entered it.
