Sha Ri Loum Homestay - Home Stay in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

This is a beautiful homestay. I stayed with my family (my wife and son). Location is amazing, quiet and peaceful. Rooms are quite clean and well appointed. Bed is very comfortable.We had a great night sleep throughout our stay. Bathrooms are clean too. Staff is very warm and took great care for our food preferences. Complimentary breakfast is apt and tasty. Dinner was also very flavourful. Overall a great place and a great choice for a homestay in Shillong. Go for it without thinking and without browsing other options. You will not regret. It's far better than staying in the crowded hotels of the marketplace.

Sha Ri Loum Homestay was absolutely amazing! First of all, the staff was wonderful during the reservation process and checking-in. They were very attentive in ensuring us that they were ready to host our stay. My Wife and I stayed for 10 days and it was magnificent. The Orchid Room was nothing short of amazing and very comfortable. It was such a peaceful and quiet place even though it is located just off a busy road. Although it is challenging to get a taxi hailed, it's only a short walk to shops, restaurants and taxi locations for the return trip back to the Homestay. Breakfast is complementary and delicious. Just the right amount of food for breakfast to get the day started, but if you ask ahead, there's a menu for breakfast. Dinner options are great also for an additional charge. I don't understand the negative comments given since they seem very unfair to give. The staff is wonderful and cares so much about our stay. We will definitely be staying here again.

We stayed here 3 nights and had booked all 4 rooms. It is a beautiful house which is done up very tastefully. Farida and her staff took good care of us and we even enjoyed their food and bonfire facilities. The rooms are clean, spacious, balcony adjacent and have good views. I would recommend this place for a group of 10 to 12 pax any given day. You get your privacy and at the same time you enjoy this beautiful property too.

We had such an amazing time during our stay here last week! We were a group of 10 people and had booked the entire villa (all the four rooms). Each of them is aesthetically done up, along with the beautiful sitting room and the cozy dining area. Rooms have all the basic amenities required for a comfortable stay. The home has a gorgeous and well maintained garden with a lovely gazebo where we enjoyed a bonfire on the last night. The surroundings of the homestay are quiet and nestled in a peaceful forest like area, with restaurants and shops a small walk away. Talking about food, we were a little sceptical in terms of what to expect as we are vegetarian. However we were pleasantly surprised with the yummiest poha, aloo Paratha, khichdi etc that we had. Lastly a special mention about Farida, the owner. She went above and beyond to look after us, considering that she had some staffing issues. She practically not just looked after us personally but also cooked for us herself! She also gave us her recommendations on what to do and where to eat, patiently handling all our queries and requests! All in all, Sha Ri Loum was a wonderful part of our Meghalaya trip and i couldn't have asked for anything better! PS: I am trying hard to think of any negatives, but apart from the fact that it was slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city center (we wanted it that way), there is nothing else really! :) Would recommend it to everyone visiting Shillong!

Awesome place with awesome host and cook. Looking forward to stay here in future if I happen to come to Shillong. The place is very nicely placed in the midst of pine tree plantation. The view is breathtaking. The location is such that there is natural beauty all around and yet it is not too far away from the city. The rooms are very pristine and we'll maintained. Moreover the common space is very well kept, be it the living room or the small garden with the fireplace. Would definitely recommend it to all people

You will not regret picking this homestay. Sha RI Loum is located amidst nature's beauty and away from the hustle and bustle of commercial areas...but it is just a stone's throw away from the taxi stand and restaurants as well as other stores. Everything that one may need to buy is at a walking distance of some metres. It is the perfect location for one to stay. The homestay is clean, it is safe, with hospitable staff, the rooms are spacious and spotless. It has all the amenities that one may need. The owner is very welcoming and kind. The food is delicious. I stayed there for a week and I had absolutely no issues with the place. I give it a five out of five.

Beautiful place to stay in Shillong. Friendly staff. Owner lady is very nice and welcoming. Always available. Rooms are very tidy, clean and warm. Beautiful interiors with a feel of home. Food prices were a little high compared to other places .
