Mercy Dez Villa - Homestay - Home Stay in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

Genuinely one of the best homestay in shillong. The owners of the homestay are so friendly and kind, they make you feel so comfortable. The environment of the homestay is also so fresh and lovely. Me and my friends had a very nice stay there. Will surely come again.

This is a little paradise tucked away in Shillong. The family has a beautiful home and garden that they shared with us. We had an apartment to ourselves with a kitchen and two bedrooms. Comfortable, neat, clean and furnished. The kitchen also has basic necessities like a kettle, some cooking facilities and dinnerware. The family served a delicious and ample dinner and breakfast. Plant lovers will especially enjoy viewing the many varieties that are planted in the garden. Thanks to our wonderful hosts, Alan and his mother, at Villa Merci Dez for a lovely stay!

We stayed at Mercy Dez Villa recently during our recent holiday in Meghalaya. We started our holiday with a at this lovely home and also ended our trip at Alan's place (Mercy Dez). We visited as a family of three = wife, son (14 years) and myself. The best part about this homestay is the opportunity to interact with Alan and his mother Mrs. Mithran. These are among the most erudite people we have met. Mrs. Mithran took the time to explore what we would like to for food at various occasions and then very carefully laid out a sumptuous meal for dinner/breakfast. Both Alan and Mrs. Mithran make very interesting conversation companions, so if you are visiting do take the time to meet and chat. They both love it. They are very knowledgeable about customs, traditions, geography and logistics for the region. Mrs. Mithran and Alan have both travelled extensively and bring their experiences to the dinner table :) Mrs. Mithran has a green thumb, which is evident in the extensive collection of beautiful plant spread across the property. Do take the time to admire the orchids and succulent plants. Mercy Dez is a property to relish at leisure on your holiday. The rooms are very clean and well equipped to host visitors. On each occasion we were given a large living area consisting of a living room, open kitchen and bedrooms. Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Kitchen is equipped with basic necessities and a fridge. Laundry service is also available. Do please let Alan know upfront, if you have any specific needs, Alan is more than willing to make your stay memorable. When we are back for our next trip to Shillong, we we definitely rely on Alan for our stay. All three of us loved the place.

I would highly recommend this beautiful homestay or rather home away from home whenever you visit shillong. Even though there are so many reasons let me elucidate few of them 1. You cannot find better hosts Aunty Pari and Mr . Alan . Myself and a friend had gone to shillong to give an exam . I had texted Mr Alan the address of the examination centre enquiring how far away from home it was. We were really touched to know that our ever thoughtful host took the pains to go on the road himself to find us the best possible route. The morning of the exam he even accompanied us to make sure we reach there hassle free. I don't think any other host will be kind enough. Aunty Pari is a very motherly person. She always makes sure our tummy is full with her delicious meals. The conversations we had in the cozy dining room are forever etched in my memory. 2. The rooms have nearly 5 star facilities The rooms in this home are spacious and have all the comforts you need. An ironing board is ever handy. Girls can use the hair dryer too. There is a small kitchen too. Bathrooms are neat and clean. Loved the instant geyser that gives you instant warm water. 3. Centrally located The traffic in shillong during peak school / office hours is a rush. This home is really centrally located. You can reach the heart of shillong on 20 min with normal traffic. The upside is despite this strategic location the nights are so quiet. City people wanting to get away from the noise of traffic will enjoy the serenity. Mr Alan was sweet enough to lend his 2 wheeler too. Aunty was jokingly asking us to "hit the town " once our exam was over. Would you believe it Mr.Alan went out of his way once again to accompany us to a nice rooftop restaurant with the best view of Shillong. He even helped me buy the best smoked dried pork shillong is so famous for. I've just stated plain facts here and an honest narration of our wonderful stay at this home away from home. Anyone reading this while planning a trip to shillong and looking for a place to stay need not look any further. .This is one choice in life you will never regret.

This is a very beautiful place to stay, yea the price is high but other than that everything is good.

Alan is simply an awesome person and what would you expect from his homestay? Awesomeness everywhere.
