SANTA RITA Fast Foods & Cafe (Goan Portuguese Cuisine) - Featured Reviews (101)
So today evening me and my friend visited the Santa Rita store at Taleigao, my friend ordered for a beef stew, beef Roulad and 4 breads clearly mentioning not to make the stew spicy. Food was packed bill payment done and we moved out. As the parcel was opened there was no beef stew packed. The beef Roulad is floating in a flood of oil and the breads are stale and not fresh. Highly disappointed where in we had high hopes looking at the menu and ambience of the place.
If you wanna have An Authentic Experience with some amazing Goan Portuguese menu then you should definitely head to none other then Santa Rita Cafe, this cafe gives you a nostalgic feeling of old Goan Portuguese A must to visit!
I am a proper goan-portugese food lover and have eaten such cuisine from my teethin "may her soul rest in peace" and never thought I would ever experience it ever again but this place.. the food.. mmm... brought back millions of my memories I shared with my teethin's cuisine. Took me back to my childhood days! Life is short and v wish we could re live it and such food makes u relive ur past again. Thank you Santa Rita.... btw the staff is excellent, very helpful in explaining the food, very friendly.. overall loved everything of SANTA RITA .
The food was not upto the mark. The chicken cafreal, pork was raw and uncooked! It was either raw or of a very old aged pig, so much so, it was so bloody difficult to cut through! As we didn't succeed cutting using a knife, we were then forced to shred it using our bare hands. Alas, we couldnt cut the pork neither the chef could cut it on request
Ordered in today for the first time from here and was such a bummer. The bolo sans rival has Mold!! There was no castor sugar on toucinho do ceu! The Serradurra is like water! The sausage pulao wasn't tasty and super pricy!! I have had far better sausage pulao at half the price! The one star is for the decent pork solatulem and great Goan bread! Do not recommend this place at all!
You can find out the popularity of a place from the number of customers purchasing stuff from it either offline or online. This place has absolutely no activity. Most of the time they hardly have anything. Afternoons their shelves are empty and no one knows when they display their stuff. Unlike places like Romeo's Pastries, 31 de Janeiro in Panjim, there are never beelines here to show there is any demand for their stuff. Chances are therefore high, as a number of reviews point out, that they sell you stale, inedible stuff. Worst of all is that Santa Rita's owners seem least bothered to face the competition and satisfy their customers.
Lovely ambience, totally loved the food... we tried the Clam samosa and it was so amazing.. the taste was so yum.. and the flavours just hit right.. the beef chops, fish almonas, pastei de nata are a must try if you visit this place.. the pork sorpotel , beef stew and other pork preparations are so upto the mark and authentic, something really hard to find nowadays..
I don't give reviews as a rule but this one I had to.
Visited this very quite and beautifully decorated with natural plants outside n inside the well lit n nicely done interiors.
Santa Rita Cafe in Taleigao
We ordered 1 each chicken, beef samosas, prawn ressois, beef croquettes, all were tasty goan cusine and were served piping hot.
Then we had the pork and chicken costeletas also served piping hot in the long hot dog type of goan bread, very tasty, even though I would have liked a little more marinade on my costelata.
The side salad was very delicately shredded and a surprise because most often one is served a roughly chopped one.
Thy have an extensive menu.
Last but not the least the boy serving us was very polite and the service was quick.
