If you are visiting Sanchi Stupa then you should visit the museum as well which is located down the hill near the ticket counter and the entry ticket is just 5Rs. The museum is small but very informative with some good ancient sculptures, you can get to see parts of the actual Ashok Stambha. To cover the entire museum peacefully you require at least an hour or so.

It is one of the best museum. You must spend 60 to 90 minutes here. Atmosphere is really great and maintained.. Placement of parts of monument is good. You can see Ashokastambh located in center. Multiple monument are there. Also pictorial representation of before and after restoration of monument Sanchi stoop let you salute to person behind restoration. One more thing is freely available of cold purified water. Also we should appreciate well maintained toilets here.

Roughly 50km from the capital city of MP, museum comprises of a Main hall and four galleries. Majority of the objects are from Sanchi itself and a few from its neighbourhood. At present there are four galleries named as Gallery, besides a verandah having nine exhibits. There are 16 outstanding objects ranging in date from 3rd cent. B.C. to medieval period on display collected from the ruins of Sanchi itself and few from the neighbouring area. The Ashokan lion Capital with four lion seated back to back exhibited in an alcove in the main hall invites visitor's attention. This lion capital, of Ashokan pillar bearing typical Mauryan polish is the most outstanding exhibit and singularly attracts ones attention.

Before visiting Stupa i just heard about it... When I visited this place it's a spiritual pilgrimage with a energy of Enlighten master Sariputa buddha and several enlighten masters energy will engulf person if one is sensitive and meditative... A life changing visit...
